Is it far worse? Our entire roster transferred then our coach was fired in shame because he hit a player and choked an assistant.

I said it was probably the right move. I just don’t relish it. At all.

Stickyboy and Aargh, I thought IB was 100% staying next year.

Meh. I’m with you that a change had to be made. I understand that IB is going to be just fine financially.

I just don’t want to dance on someone’s grave when he lost his job. I understand that it had to happen but I won’t be popping champagne over this one.

Not coming down on you, Fev. Just my personal thoughts.

No he didn't. I have just as much proof as you.

Failure is that dire. We'd be deep in the red paying three coaches with the lowest fan engagement in decades, in a near MVC-level conference that won't give us much help. We could be talking about an end to the program at that point.

And making matters worse, we have cards stacked against us in this search. We need to succeed with the money we have, with the circumstances we've created, and in the conference we are in. We need to somehow punch above our weight class.
I don't get your point exactly. Are you advocating IB should have been retained?

Your points and perception on reality per usual are closer to Jupiter than to Earth.

Ok fair enough. Change it *accused of and the point remains.

I get it 16. I do not have one problem with IB the man, the human being himself. That's definitely not the issue. He was put into a position he shouldn't have been put into. And he did the best he could for himself. But I think he'll end up ok. I'm not celebrating the fact that he got terminated. I'm celebrating the fact that our basketball program took a serious turn to becoming relevant soon again,.

I thought he'd get another year. I'm not one bit disappointed that I was wrong on that. I give credit to KS for having some serious STONES! He's either got some MAJOR financial commitments from somewhere, or he's willing to make high risk decisions and trust himself to make them work. We'll know more about how he pulled it off when the financial disclosures are published by the athletic department. 1972 is very good at interpreting those for us.

I felt IB had to go, but I was afraid there would be no way to make that work.

Not sure where I ever said I thought he would 100% get another year. But doesn't surprise me with Fever making something up after the fact without ever making a stance himself. Typical troll move by him.

I was certainly never 100% that IB would be back. I think enough posters knew that from my comments. I didn't think I needed to mention that misrepresentation.

My only take was we had to have the money to fire him. And I wasn't sure if we had it (since no one has that info). I knew if the money was there... It would happen.

There are a lot of bad takes on Twitter every day, that is probably atop today's list of them.

Gotta say, I'm greatly relieved...no matter who is hired. In over 40 years as a Shocker fan, I've never seen apathy towards the program this bad. So much has been wrong for three years (and yes, I'm including the Covid year when IB got coach of the year...that was a a bit of a mirage). This needed to happen for the good of the program and all of the other sports. The national prestige has taken a huge hit and may never come back...the game has changed...and WSU has to change as well. So...we have a new Coach coming...a new AD who is doing a good job. Will the President be next in a few years????

Not if Wichita State hires a terrible coach
