  • I forgot to add, but Jaykwon Walton is a problem at both ends of the court. And he's starting to understand that. Jaron Pierre COULD be, and he just might be starting to get that too. His length absolutely disrupted UH at times last night. He does need to learn that staying on his feet sometimes is the right move.

Only going to happen if we can keep guys for several years in a row without transferring.

Yeah, but that'll only happen if people are cheering for them to win, instead of against them.

The kids played their asses off. Fought for and won more than their fair share of 50/50 balls (and that rarely happens vs Houston).

Defensive schemes, preparation, execution and effort was off the charts. I mean not even in the same room as good. Excellent job by the staff and players.
I have been as critical as anyone concerning rebounding, ball movement and player movement, not to mention coaching. But you hit the nail on the head. Ton of credit to players toughness and teamwork. As much as I hate to say it, coaching was much improved as well.

As I stated earlier, good teams have bad games, and bad teams have good games.. This was a good game. Now sustaining that effort and teamwork? We will see.

            • Did anyone hear the ESPN jackass that made the statement right after the game (when switching back to the main desk) that Houston was considering this as a tuneup for their next game.
He was basically saying this was a Houston practice game, and that's why WSU stayed in it for so long.

If we do they would probably have to be in Houston. Doesn't sound like Sampson is all that interested in coming back to Wichita except to have a place to stay when he attends the National Juco Tournament in Hutch.

We had a Walton this time last year. His name was RCIV. We lost him.

If it were only that easy and all that it would take. I'm of the opinion that NIL money, under the table money, TV exposure, facilities and chance to play in the NCAA Tournament are all more of a factor than the fans cheering for them.

They can't keep transferring as they are only allowed to do that once without having to then sit out a year. Other schools have bigger bodies and with transfers.

Agreed! Fans help with the atmosphere in the game at times...but the real work has to come from within.

Think of my post as a necessary condition, not a sufficient one.
