  • Too many people here know what happened. I have only read that there were two people in that room. Obviously, there was an altercation. Was it a verbal argument? Was it an altercation that ended with a beating? Was it in between? At least there is consistency with those who say they know, being prepared to throw Beard under the bus. They have said those things at other times too. My guess is that they know little at best.l and probably make good palm readers and fortune tellers.

The felony charge is what allowed UT to fire Beard for cause. A lawsuit against UT would probably only serve to delay Beard's return to coaching.

A lawsuit also brings out the truth. Sometimes it's best for all parties to move on.

This is true, and sometimes a threat of a suit by a lawyer bring both sides together. I would think that UT has deep enough pockets that they never cared about being sued, and they may choose to simply make it go away. Most things like this are somewhere in the middle.

The one thing I've learned from this board? It's the victim that's to blame! Maybe we can get Trevor Bauer and Mike Clevinger to come in and coach our pitchers on the baseball team while we're at it! I mean they're technically not in jail, right?

                • If you are the kind of guy that puts his hands on people to end arguments then we don’t need you.

If you are the kind of guy with piss poor judgement that you take up with a kook likely to blow your career up with her antics then we don’t need you.

Chris Beard is one or both of these people.

                    For sure.

The hard-ass coach that most believe we just go to have, by any measure, is sure to have players who now know for a fact they don't have to suck it up under the glower of hard 'life lessons.' They can just simply transfer and play right away, maybe (probably) even for more money. Selling recruits on great fan support might have seen it's day...

                    • It's obvious some either don't believe in self defense, or simply refuse to believe Beard was defending himself.

I'm not nixing anyone from a potential list because they may have defended themselves from an aggressor. I don't care if that aggressor is a woman or some teenage punk. And if it was defense, she wasn't beaten to a bloody pulp so it's not like it was an insanely excessive defense.

Some program will hire him and win. I could see Louisville being the one. They don't give 2shites what you and me think...much like the payhawks. They simply want to win.

4 win and 23 loss Louisville's last home game against Clemson (a win) drew 15,000+. That number speaks for itself.

Your projection is the most credible scenario, to anybody with half a brain...

                          • You gotta love these trial by media people.
They believe everything they read from journalists are factual and complete testimony of each actual event. Many journalists enjoy the privilege of using anonymous sources in their reports, meaning it can't be confirmed.
The fact of the matter is that a journalists job these days is not to report factual complete stories, but to get readers. Hide and bend facts in order to sensationalize the story so that it becomes news worthy.
What's sad is the fact that so many of us fall for this mob hanging stuff. We don't care if it ruins the life of the accused even if innocent.

                            Thanks media folk!

                            • I believe our local guy, Taylor. Many of today’s national media are just looking for podcast friends, attention and clicks.

I believe in self defense. In my many decades I’ve never had to defend myself from a crazy woman because I don’t attract or abide crazy women.

I’m not saying the guy should never work again, but he is not right for our already unstable situation.
