FR - Ron Baker, Fred VanVleet, Derail Green, Teddy Hawkins, Henry Uwadiae
SO - Evan Wessel, Tekele Cotton, Jake White
JR - Cleanthony Early, Chadrack Lufile, Nick Wiggins
SR - Ehimen Orukpe, Carl Hall, Demetric Williams
Did I forget anyone? Other than Armstead who we've never heard for sure was getting one or not... I guess that's 14 without Armstead. Which would still be one over. I feel like I'm missing somebody. I thought we were at 15.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

How do we know who was promised a scholarship and who wasn't? How do we know that HCGM doesn't make it perfectly clear to recruits that they are coming to a team to win and that a scholarship will go to the best 13 players? It's established that players are signing with the clear understanding that our roster is bulging and somebody might be paying their own way.
Just please let me know as soon as our two non-scholarship/walkon players are chosen as I may have a very "informative" thread in the works for our friends in the Valley.

What we are not loaded with is D-1 experience coming into the year.
I count Evan, Jake and Ehimen as having 1 good year of D-1 experience combined. I'm talking about time on the floor in games.
Carl has 1 year, Demetric and Malcolm 3 years each. That's a total of 8 years of D-1 experience. That compares to 13 years D-1 experience at the beginning of last year when we also had a lot of new pieces.
How such a team comes together is always hard to predict. Will the talent level overcome the lack of experience. I am cautiously optimistic that it will but it may take a little while. Only time will tell for sure.
My guess is the Henry will be the one that doesn't make it. No real basis for that. Maybe wishful thinking as that is probably the best outcome from a pure basketball talent perspective.

I doubt that kids with scholarship offers to quality schools are turning them down to come here as walk-ons. Not saying it can't happen, but that's more likely with a local kid. If Armstead is paying his way, then I'm assuming the staff doesn't expect one of Hawkins/Uwadiae to get passed the Clearinghouse. If that happens, we're good. I don't expect to hear that Hawkins/Green/Baker/VanVleet/Uwadiae/Early/Wiggins/Ehime/Hall....are walking on. The only one I'd possibly consider is Wessel.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

I'm not too worried about D1 experience. I'm worried about getting these guys to have the attitude that things aren't given, they are taken. Now go out and take the ball and put it into that round hoop, and make the other team know that if they try to put the ball in the other hoop, you are going to do everything in your power to make it as difficult as possible. And after 40 minutes of you busting your hump to get that done, we will look on the scoreboard and know that we got the ball into our hoop more times than they got the ball into their hoop. And also, after 40 minutes, the other team needs to understand that they just got their ars handed to them by superior basketball talent. And the next time they play WSU, they are going to have a similar experience. And no matter what they do, they are always going to have that miserable experience of getting wiped off the floor by dudes that are taller, faster, better shooters, better dribblers, and better coached.
Are we there yet? No, but we are getting closer, much much closer."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

If all 15 players had an equal chance of playing together on the floor, that would be 15 factrorial, which is 1,307,674,368 combinations of players who could see the floor together. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Not quite aargh... 15 factorial gives you all possible ways you could order the 15 players... but only 5 can be on the floor at the same time. Wusplash was closer by saying 15x14x13x12x11=360360 possibilities... however, this answer is an ordered answaer, if we truly wanna know how many combinations of players can be on the court at the same time no matter what position they are playing, we need 15 choose 5 or (15*14*13*12*11)/(5*4*3*2*1)=3003....
