IB's players, his first year, were coached by a real coach right up until the season started. Those players came to WSU to be coached up, but left when they saw that we no longer had a coach. None of these guys were here then.

Okafor has major travels issues getting back to the 316 from Christmas. (Who hasn’t). He makes it, by himself, to Orlando the night before the game. He gets punished and has to sit the first half?
When did he last practice with the team? Did he have any idea of the teams game plan (if there was one)?
Maybe those are the reasons. Not punished.

      • Flanagan was the hot hand on offense. Does he play down the stretch? No. We play the guys who'd been bricking all game.

Classic Isaac Brown move. Surprised we didn't just play 4 so Isaac Brown could imagine Joe Pleasant was out there as the fifth.

The one thing that sticks out to me is that one not familiar with the coaching staff would never guess that one of our assistants had been an NCAA-1 Head Coach for 21 years with 361 wins, .551 winning %, 4 NCAA tournament appearances twice making S16. Just what does he really do for this team????

Well, if he didn't know the team's game plan, maybe Brown should look into Okafor's game plan. In 14 minutes, 6 points, 2-4 FG, 2-3 3pt, 4 rebounds, 0 TOs, and 1 steal.

The play-by-play says that Flanagan goes into the game at 15:25 of the 2nd half and didn't come out until 2:06. He goes back in with 27 seconds left. I don't believe he was gassed as there were 5 TOs after the he went in at 15:25 and before he was taken out at 2:06.

              • At this point I think if the player has a gameplan, that's not in Isaac Brown's gameplan. If two or more players have a gameplan, that's a conspiracy to commit a gameplan and Isaac Brown will bench them until they forget their gameplan.

I liked UCF’s defense better than ours. No Olay defense from them. Our defense wasn’t very intense (this game for sure). Our offense is worse, which somebody pointed out, but our defense isn’t good either. Maybe you like our defense though. We used to, in past years, play good, tough, in your face defense. Now we play lots of zone defense, don’t move our feet, when we play M/M defense, and don’t rebound. Not very physical.

He was taken out after getting hit in the mouth and was bleeding. Though I thought he could have been put back in at the 1:06 Mark but didn't until a possession later

UCFs defense was good too. But ours is still rated Top 40 in the nation per KenPom. The problem is our offense is 219th...

Has nothing to do with whether I personally like the defense or not. The data is what it is.

I know what you’re saying, and I agree concerning the Stats. However, stats can be misleading. The greatest thing about our defense last night was that UCF missed so many wide open shots. They shot horribly at times. That kept the score MUCH closer.

We are concerned why a WALK-ON didn't get in for crunch time minutes? Let that tell us all we need to know about the state of the program. Adding insult to injury, he was the best player the SHOX had on the floor last nite. UGH!

For one game, sure, stats can belie what happened. But not the entire season.

That seems to be the trend... teams shooting horribly against us .. we are 13 games into the year. Stats say we are Top 40 defense. Our defense is one thing you have to give the team credit for.

What's even more amazing? We shoot even worse than the other teams ...

Looking at our losses this year . if we were even a Top 100 offense .. nothing amazing .. just passable ... we could very well be sitting with 1 or 2 losses right now ..

Vastly improved shooting once they leave our program seems to be another trend.
