Looks like TSU is VERY guard oriented probably playing 3-4 guards at a time. Tallest player is 6'7. Can we exploit that? Not unless we move KP and the Bear down low and get some quality entry passes. That's not our style but we should be able to eek out a 59-56 win anyway on a season high 12 assists.
WSU is assisting on just 34% of made baskets, which ranks No. 358 nationally, a stark drop-off for a program that has produced at least a 51% assist rate in every season since 1987. Even more troubling is that the team has almost no one else making plays for others outside of star point guard Craig Porter, who essentially has half of the team’s assists.
I don't know if the assist problem is because of poor shooting or selfishness, but either way, something needs to change quickly. Selfishness is on HCIB to fix if that is the problem.

It is a little of both. Over the first 5 games, there have been a LOT of bricked wide open looks that should have been assists. But there has also been a lot of selfish play. If we shot decently we would still likely be the lower half of D1 in assist rate .. just maybe not bottom 10
