If he is offered head assistant position it would be one step closer to becoming a head coach, regardless of money. Dana being at ISU and recruiting there.....they will be successful.

There's no indication of Dana going to ISU or their board. Just one mention of wishing it would happen.

This is nothing but good news for us. Wichita State is now where the best assistants go to become head coaches. Eat it Spinelli.

@ShockRef:, thanks for taking that in the manner it was intended.

(Quality) assistants leave to become head coaches, or coaches in waiting. I agree with BOBB. My only consternation is that I believe Dana brought a real balance to to the program and seemed very popular with the student athletes.

The prospects for an even better replacement are fantastic though. Good Luck Dana. He is a HIGH QUALITY individual and each time I visited with him it was enjoyable. The Redbirds certainly just upgraded their staff.

Somehow, I suspect, we'll manage to do the same.

So Ford is the Head Coach in waiting?

                BOBB brings it consistently.

Sad to see Dana go, he was a great asset to our program and a very nice person. I wish him nothing but the best and have no doubt he will be a great head coach somewhere in the near future.

                              • SMU fires AD. I have no idea, if it is related to the hire of Coach Brown.
