I never understood why ISUb was being picked so high this year. I had them no better than 5th in my preseason and figured they'd be 6th or 7th. I know I wasn't alone with that thinking. I'd be shocked if anybody really thinks that ISU will finish that low. If anybody has them lower than 4th I'd be surprised and I'd bet most have them 2nd or 3rd.

The only thing that they share with ISUb is a good weekend in STL.

We can agree to disagree at the least. And you're right about each's previous year as they were not the same. Ind St finished at 12-6 two games ahead of 4th place CU and UNI with both 1st place MSU and 2nd place WSU taking as much, or more, of a hit to their rosters than Ind St. I personally thought Ind St was a one year aberration, but I could certainly see why others thought they had a good shot at one of the top 2 or 3 spots the next year. As for the Redbirds, see my comments above as to their accomplishments last year. If they had lost to us, which they should have, in the tourney they would not be so highly thought of from outside viewers. Unlike Ind St, I believe the Redbirds are for real, but primarily because they lose no one and I'm big on experience and team chemistry. However, it would not surprise me to see UNI ahead of them at seasons end and had Drake not lost Rice, they would have been right there with them. Oh yes, I think we'll be in that mix as well.

I personally think Jank did very little with a lot of talent during his tenure at ISUR. The individual talent on the 2009 and 2010 teams was much better than the teams he put on the floor. His scheduling was pathetic. That's on him. SMU made a mistake. Jank wrangled another couple years. Unfortunately the timing for Ill St. sucks.

I expect ISU to announce a new coach on Monday. They interviewed former player Dan Muller yesterday along with current Gonzaga assistant Ray Giacoletti. Current ISU assistant Rob Judson is interviewing today. I'd like to see them make a good hire and get their program on track.

Dan Muller is the new HC in Normal. He'll be introduced tomorrow at 4pm. Our fans, myself included, are pretty excited with the hire :)
