Exactly. Bottom line - WSU isn’t going anywhere.

    • I would be very annoyed if WSU suddenly played many of its games at 10 and 11pm eastern time.

Cal taps NASA specialist amid concerns over ACC travel - ESPN zz0.4eu3a2ecmywzz

"CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- Moving to the ACC has been a boost for Cal and Stanford from a number of different standpoints, providing both schools with a long-term home in a power conference after the Pac-12 fell apart in the summer of 2023. But the change also has brought worries over travel during conference play, with nearly every road trip in January, February and March involving a multiple-game swing and several days away from home....In the offseason, Golden Bears athletic director Jim Knowlton brought in a NASA specialist to give a presentation to the school's sports teams...."

        • Perhaps NASA could also help them figure out how to win basketball games.

          • Once Stanford and Cal get some of those travel invoices to transport the ladies golf team, volleyball team, guys soccer teams back and forth to the east coast a few times, there will be some buyers remorse.
You can see the purchasing agents face when they get the bill for a dozen or so flights to the east coast!
"Wait a minute, didn't we just bus over to Stanford when we played them? Didn't we just bus down to LA to play UCLA and USC? Same when we played Fresno State and San Jose State?"

"These airlines are charging us a mint to fly back and forth across the country! Who made this decision?"

You can see this conversation coming big time.

Oregon State and Wash State looking smarter as time moves on.

            That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

I just read an article this morning about how many billionaires are alumni from each school. Stanford (30) and Cal (11). Teams like us, Ore State, Wash State have zero. That certainly helps.

              • Deion Sanders again expresses his displeasure with late kickoffs: 'How stupid is that?'

Colorado's game vs. No. 18 Kansas State on Saturday kicks off at 10:15 p.m. ET

"Deion Sanders is once again unhappy with Colorado’s late kickoff times. The Buffaloes host No. 18 Kansas State on Saturday night in a game that kicks off at 8:15 p.m. in Boulder. That’s 10:15 p.m. ET. The game is set to be televised as ESPN’s nightcap following Florida and Tennessee at 7 p.m. ET. “Who does that? Who has the power to sit up there and say, ‘Yeah I’m gonna make them play at 8:15?’” Sanders rhetorically asked on his coaches show

When Colorado radio announcer Mark Johnson informed Sanders that TV networks largely dictate start times, Sanders asked, “How stupid is that?” before expounding on his point. “But it’s not smart for television executives to say, ‘We’re going to put this game on at this time.’ Because you’re thinking about eyeballs, you’re thinking about selling merchandise on the commercials. You’re thinking about all that. Why would you put it at that time when half of America is asleep?”..."

Not just the travel expenses, but not many want to stay up that late to watch a game from the East or Central Time Zones.

                • I doubt many people on the East Coast give a flip about ksu or Colorado. Maybe 2% of the population west of Missouri would watch , but that's probably pushing it.
