I'm sure a quick google could find it out.
    You're right.

Williams, though, is more than an athletic director and is compensated for his other positions as well. His other positions at the private university include: vice chancellor for university affairs and athletics; general counsel and university secretary for Vanderbilt and its medical center; fully tenured professor of law.

    ...

In an interview with USA Today, Williams calculated that 60 percent of his base salary is for overseeing athletics and 40 percent of his bonus money comes from his work with sports. According to the report, that would yield a salary of $537,200 for being Vanderbilt’s athletic director. USA Today reports the average is about $450,000 at top-tier NCAA schools.

That would put Florida's AD as the highest paid legitimate AD in the country, which makes sense, as they're strong in the two highest revenue sports and competitive in most sports. And loaded with cash thanks to their law program resulting in rich alumni donations.

So how was Perkins making $4.5M then when the highest paid AD in the country now makes about $1.5M?

It was a late payoff for shutting down WSU football to avoid having us join their conference at a later date. KU gets WAY out ahead on these issues. They are figuring out who our next president will be as we speak.

I wonder if the legislature or the Board of Regents have asked or investigated that question?
