Don't sweat it Wufan. There will be a number of changes between now & then so the issue will be settled.

With how is stands the depth at each position would look something like what follows.

PG - Armstead, Williams, Cotton, FVV
SG - Williams, Baker, Cotton, Wessel
SF - Early, Baker, Wessel, Green, Hawkins, Anacreon
PF - Hall, White, Hawkins, Green, Early, Anacreon
        C - Ehimen, Hall, Uwadiae

I think we'll be ok. And we'll see how the roster changes over the next month or so.

With Cotton, DWill, and Armstead look for our own version of Havoc.

I'm as stoked about FVV as anyone, I just like having Armstead here to provide some background and leadership....especially on the Defensive end. Led Oregon in steals, not sure how he plays offensively though but ill take a player that can shut down defensively anyday.

I had forgotten about Armstead's steals stat. Add EO playing keeper and that would be a pretty fun line-up to watch (at least on defense)!

I can't see where we wouldn't extend the defense next year.

I agree. As I just posted in another thread, when you have the guard depth and talent that we have, we can run on offense and pressure like crazy on D without wearing ourselves out. Armstead, Williams, Cotton, FVV and Baker. There's 5 guards who can get after it. If you want some athleticism and length you can throw Early and Green or Hawkins in there to really disrupt things. And when you got a couple of bigs that can block shots like Ehimen and Hall, the basket is pretty well protected.

I agree, but then I expected to see more of it this past season than we actually did.

Also a fair point. And when we did press, most of it was a token pressure. I'd like to see the team press a lot and mix up the presses to keep teams off balance.

It may be on the Defensive side that we can pick up some slack as we rebuild. As noted by others, we have lots of guards to throw every D., presses, traps, and an improved zone at our opponents. Mix it up and use our youth, high octane energy, and athletic team to swarm our opponents like agitated honey bees that sting without fouling much but with great results. VCU and Syracuse are teams we could study and add such D. tactics to our arsenal. They trap and mix some funky zones that are effective. We will have plenty of offense but our D. may be what helps us to surpass what will be expected of us during a rebuilding Season.
