First, and most important, can he handle a tough press without turning it over. He had nearly five APG and that is a good. Tells me he probably has a high BBIQ ( coaches son helps there ). Still don't know size but I'll guess from pic about 6'2. Needs another 10 lbs of muscle. Another RB is a stretch but my gut tells me he could be a pleasant surprise and earn some minutes.

If they have talent, as everyone feels they do, then trust that made good decisions on who can “coach them up”.
Players regret their decisions all the time, as evidenced by the transfer portal.

You're right. Probably why we have so many talented players transfer out.

So, I think I’m starting to get it now. When everybody transferred from the team of the previous coach, it was the players who sucked. Got it. Thanks for clearing that up for us.

Guess you don't comprehend my statement. I've never outed a player for transferring out. I was agreeing with you that players know the coaches ability more than the fans do. That they transfer after seeing the coaches ability.
Glad to take that down to an elementary level for you.

What? Who on here has any clue how good the recruiting job is. Everyone thought our last recruits were going to be good too, but look who that turned out.

I accept your opinion, even if I don’t agree. The problem with your POV is that it is totally based on opinions that can’t be proven.

                You mentioned:
-you TRUST the player to JUDGE IB’s coaching abilities more than others on this board.
-Most THINK the coaching staff has done a good job recruiting.
-IF players have talent, then we should TRUST the players know who CAN coach them up.

Everything you you said was based on WORDS that are UNPROVABLE such as TRUST, JUDGE, THINK, ETC. I disagree with your assertions. The only FACTS we KNOW FOR SURE is that our team record was 15-13, which is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

I agree but, I think their recruiting wasn't as bad as the record indicated. I do think the coaching was worse than the record indicated.

I believe the coaching was terrible. I also think if we would have played everyone when IB was named coach of the year we wouldn't have had a better record. I am tired of hearing how great they were at Drexel. Sienna, Jr College, etc. I will give this group a chance to prove themselves but I won't give IB another chance. He may be a good recruiter but he is not a good HC.

Would you rather have guys who were great in high school? What do you want? Guys who were great at Michigan or Kentucky? A guy who was real great at K-State got an $800,000 deal for two years. In the portal you either get guys moving up because of their success at lower levels or moving down because of their failure at higher levels.

Or moving sideways looking for a fresh start, more playing time, or a coach/system more to their liking. In all cases, probably hoping to latch on to some NIL money. Not sure I have heard anyone say they are looking for a stable program that focuses on team and teamwork that all players buy into with a high degree of loyalty.

Kids primarily want playing time on a winning team and they want a coach who can help them develop into an NBA player. NIL is also on the list, but give a solid player the first two things I mention and they will stick around unless they see huge a NIL deal somewhere else.
RIght now, I don't think we can offer any one of these 3 things, but hoping that changes.

The issues is about 1% of NCAA D1 kids will become NBA players for even one NBA game. They all think they are NBA players and a miniscule number of them actually are.

I bet 10-15% of players have the talent. Maybe more. Only about 5% of those with talent have the work ethic to make it.

Put Evan or Grahams work ethic in Shaq.

Yeah, but WSU's NIL package is getting better...
