Not AAC related, but in a stunner, Jay Wright is retiring from Villanova. I didn't realize he had been there 21 years! Fordham coach Kyle Neptune, a former Nova assistant, is taking over.

It's no surprise that the NIL system has legalized and solidified the system where money is the great attractor. And I do think it will create incredible havoc in college athletics, and I do fear WSU may end up being a "have not" on the outside looking in at the "haves" of college athletics. Hope I'm wrong.
But to be honest, isn't the attraction of money the case for all of us? When considering job offers, unless some other factor unbalances everything, where do people tend to go? Where the salary is the best.
Even the fact that I am a die-hard, black and gold bleeding Shocker really came down to money, in my case scholarship money. Way back as a high school senior in the 80s headed to being a music performance/music ed major, I had my list narrowed down three: WSU, KU, and North Texas. UNT and its phenomenal school of music would have been an amazing experience, but the financial aid they offered was very small. So now it was down to KU and WSU. WSUs financial aid package was a pair of scholarships - one music and the other academic from the DSC program, which gave me four years of having tuition, fees, and books completely covered. KU offered a smaller music scholarship and the rest would have been in loans. Knowing my parents would not be able to help much with paying for college, it was a no-brainer. The money talked.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss
