Marshall built the Shocker basketball brand into something special, not Sexton and not Boatright. Marshall was the promoter that built connections in the community and brought excitement to events. It's not Brown's fault but he just doesn't have the persona to succeed in this environment. Boatright and Brown are a lethal combination to our beloved Shocker program.

Brown gets the vast majority of the blame for the poor performance on the floor.

Boatright get a HEALTHY chunk of the blame for the mass transfers this year. Not making any effort to change in the NIL area falls squarely on his shoulders. Even with Marshall, without getting a NIL collective set up we would be toast. Now if you want to say Marshall would have forced Boatright to not be lazy ... i probably would have agreed. But Marshall isnt' here .. so let's start by replacing Boatright.

Everything Boatright has done has been lazy. He's just collecting a paycheck and coasting thru doing the bare minimum.

Here (WSU), we need a coach who won't take the FINAL WORD from a lazy AD who just takes his golden parachute, and waits for retirement (while the coach sits on his butt). That's one reason that Charles (and others) liked Marshall, and would step up for him.

Monzy Jackson entered the portal on March 21.

He committed to Jacksonville State on April 11

Soooo Jacksonville freaking State was able to get a player a NIL deal with Urban Outfitters within 2 days of committing.

You're right that Marshall isn't here. My point is that Marshall had the personality and the drive to pick up the phone and get guys to contribute to NIL deals. He wouldn't have looked to Boatright to do it. He had enough sense to know nobody is going to respond to Boatright. Brown does not have the ability to do it himself and he is still learning how to be a head coach. Thus, Boatright and Brown are a lethal combination. I agree with replacing Boatright but it will take a special person to fix this mess.

Well we can start by just getting rid of the Lazy AD and seeing how the dynamic changes ... Not saying IB is the right man, he's probably not, but no coach will succeed here at this point. Even if we get rid of IB, the AD will make sure the new coach that is hired is one that doesn't challenge him.

Is it correct that foreign players cannot enter NIL deals because they are on student visas? If so, maybe HCIB should look at hiring an assistant with recruiting ties in Canada.

The only thing I saw before he left or committed was a NIL with supplement world. Don't see anything else mentioned. I could be wrong though.

There are ways around that apparently. Oscar Tshiebwe is from Congo and apparently has a million+ dollar NIL lined up for next year. Granted maybe the way around it is to be Kentucky ... but the rules are so vague... i would expect there to be plenty of loopholes

Why stop at Canada. One assistant for Canada, one for Australia/New Zealand, one for Europe and someone else with connections in Africa. We can hit the American kids on the portal as their one free transfer and just go mostly international.

He actually post this before he committed, but after he transferred. He had some other clothing deals that he was promoting on his Instagram.
