They did one or the other all year, game after game.

Their performance, along with the forwards, was atrocious most of the season. I saw more embarrassing keystone cop performances from the Shocks this year in one half of literally almost every game than I saw from all of our opponents combined. Mo was anything but the ringleader there. Where was the point guard to settle things down? Last years team could run a fast break, and for some reason, this years team couldn't. Why?

    • I love DD. the kid has got good character and plays elite defense. . But dam he can't shoot. Clang!!!! It's painful to n watch. If he stays he needs to figure out how to score INSIDE THE 3 POINT LINE.. (Midrange game is needed)

Apples and oranges. Thanks for proving my point.

        • Turnovers happen when you play “let dawgs be dawgs”. Having a short leash was the thing they complained about the most. Now this is the result. This is also what happens when you let kids dictate policy.

          • The game has changed from 2010. Perimeter guys going to the hoop or shooting 3's is the way the game is played. Teams that do that effectively have consistently beat the Shox. Unfortunately the Shox don't have perimeter players who can do that. When there's little threat of a player going to the basket, then 3's are the only thing a team is going to get other than going inside.

Another term for the style of game where perimeter guys go to the basket or shoot 3's is "let dawgs be dawgs".

It's not all coaching. The personnel the Shox could put on the court created a team that was easy to defend. Defenses could double Etienne and Udeze without paying a price because Pleasant isn't a shooter and Dennis isn't a maker.

Defensive scout on WSU was really easy. Put 2 guys on Etienne or Council, 1 on Porter, 1 on Udeze and the 5th guy just across the lane from wherever Udeze was. Leave Dennis and Pleasant unguarded in the corners. That's why the combination of Porter, Etienne, Council, Dennis, and Udeze was effective. It wasn't possible to double both Council and Etienne. Not using that combination more often is on coaching.

              • The NCAA called Kansas coach Bill Self a cheater nearly 1,000 days ago. His power has only grown. | Opinion (yahoo.com)

A mere 921 days ago, the NCAA delivered a document to the University of Kansas that called its men's head basketball coach a cheater.

Since then, Kansas has won 81 basketball games, signed four McDonald’s All-Americans, taken home a pair of Big 12 titles and now made a Final Four. As for the coach? Well, Teflon Bill Self has been so inconvenienced by the whole thing that Kansas has subsequently awarded him with a lifetime contract that might as well be a middle finger pointed toward Indianapolis — an NCAA embarrassment that could only be topped by Self holding up the national title trophy on Monday night.

                • I'll drop this little article here, too: Gotta love this. A school that cheats wants NCAA restructuring.

Just another reason why college basketball is a damaged game and can’t be taken too seriously right now.

The NCAA is just a facade. Ultimately, everything is just for show. Did anyone really think anything was going to happen to KU? Billy will keep cheating and KU will keep winning.

                            • Who won?

I'd rather watch WSU's group of -ahem- mercurial A/TO guards stumblin' and fumblin' the ball up the court on a fast break that goes nowhere real fast (well, kinda sorta fast), and that was all game every game, than watch the god***n ChickenHawks. I got better things to do...
