I am all for as many mids in the tourney as possible, but I really won't be that upset if Drexel doesn't get in. First off, from an eye test/resume comparison standpoint I don't see how ORU gets no respect while Drexel is probably right on the edge one way or another. During their win streak 10 of their wins were against sub 200 competition and they only played 4 teams in the top 100. Their RPI is currently 67.
If that were us or another Valley school in that same position, I'd guarantee you we'd be out. The east coast bias drives me nuts. No other mid outside of the Colonial would even be in the discussion, but maybe they earned it with 2 final 4 appearances.
Now am I all for ORU, Iona, MTSU, Marshall, and Drexel being in over most of the bubble mids but for whatever reason the committee gives them no respect. How the committee can favor Cal or Washington who are in the pathetic Pac 12, as witnessed by Colorado (a possible Thursday night team if they were still in the Big 12) winning their auto, or Mississippi St who decided to take February off, or Northwestern who is 5-13 vs top 100 competition, is beyond me. When you constantly get shots at top 50 competition or at least have the opportunity to schedule top 50 competition in your noncon and you still have 0 or 1 top 50 wins then you deserve to be out.
I am thoroughly disappointed that the above mids didn't take care of business in their conference tourneys. Between them and the other nonBCS schools that took care of business I was expecting near half of the teams in the Round of 32 to be nonbcs. I also find it deeply disappointing now that we lost to ISUR. The 13/14 seeds are much weaker now than they were a week ago.
Anyway, heres to us getting a good draw and avoiding Portland tomorrow.

Florida lost by 14 to Georgia a few weeks ago. They beat a 2-14 South Carolina team on their home floor by only 8. Does that mean they're not that good either? Please.
I don't wanna face any quality mid-major who knows how to win, has won lots of games, and has a chip on its shoulder with something to prove, i.e. Drexel, i.e. VCU, i.e. Long Beach State.

It really is all in the "match ups"...How many times have we seen a team full of "bigs", playing in a league that features NBA height 4s and 5s, get run off the court by a smaller, quicker team?
Or a team with a relaxed perimeter defense get bombed by a hot three point shooting team?

Looking at Drexel's wins/losses I don't see any reason they should be in the tournament. They have 0 quality road or neutral site wins. Cleveland State may have been quality at one point in the season but not now. Drexel hasn't beat any tournament team with the exception of VCU which they had a their chance to beat in the conference tournament. Heck they couldn't even beat Norfolk State who is projected to be a 16 seed on a neutral floor. I don't buy into their argument at all.Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.
