I just returned in the "way back machine" from my trip to the 90s. It was as I had recalled. Maybe worse. Are we once again staring at an abyss of similar proportions????

Ya the AG over CP narrative should end right here. Porter drove this team this year. Just look at the Tulsa game. AG was good but CP is a much better overall point guard with far more upside as well.

Why, what were the media thinking putting AG on an All-Conference team but not CP! Who cares if CP could barely pass the ball in bounds effectively (hot potato) from underneath the hoop? Nobody on this board that I read posted that Porter was a 'bad' PG. Just serviceable. I think JB was a better point guard. No?

And by the way, it's pretty surprising that neither announcer got up and walked out of the arena during that abomination of a game between Memphis and SMU. Did you make it through that entire game? Don't lie. "Light years" better than the Valley?

Because of Evansville, Bradly, Southern Illinois, Drake, Missouri State, Indiana State, Illinois State and Northern Iowa. Oh and lack of vision on the part of Doug Elgin to enforce rules to increase the profile of said schools.
