It was obviously their ploy and it worked for them.

Nice try Fred, but it's obvious that Coach is under double-secret probation and he will not be making any negative comments (publicly) about the officials or the ILS tactics.

Although he did kind of get a mild shot in when he wished ILS good luck in whatever tournament they end up in.

Coach is now saying publicly that he does not think there is any conspiracy against WSU by the MVC. Strange things have happened but no conspiracy.

He also addressed the issue of going first at the post game media conference, he said he and the team didn't want to hang around the arena any longer than they had to, the Illinois State team wasn't anywhere to be seen (they were probably in their locker room celebrating) they got permission to go first and nobody had an objection. Where he erred is he hadn't read the 100 page document that the Valley sent out on protocol that states that the winning team has to go first. It was a mistake on coaches part, but it wasn't intentional.

Coach 'nailed' the show like a split hog! Boy, I love the guy. I'd sure want him in my fox hole.

The conspiracy exists only in Bob's little mind.

Typical Gregg, moving on to the next task, rebuilding the player's confidence, and firing a few subtle salvos over several heads. Respect everyone, fear no one.

bob lutz is very adamant about reporters getting the "facts" on a story. maybe he should have listened to the gregg marshall show before writing such a story.

of course, obtaining facts about american idol from the tv guide listings is how he typically spends his time.

                          good work, coach marshall.

A conspiracy is silly. I somehow don't see the MVC higher ups sitting around discussing how they're going to keep WSU from ever winning St. Louis. There's just no explanation for why that would ever take place.

I think there is a fairly decent possibility that Coach Marshall, given his let's say mildly abrasive nature, along with his intense desire to win, may have made it so that some certain referees are less than fond of him. Those referees, whether consciously or not, may choose to rule against him on close calls. And some referees might have the sort of attitude that, when being called out on their own bad calls, choose to compound their bad calls by getting "revenge" on the guy that has continually been calling them out for it. I have a feeling that Coach doesn't have the best relationship with referees in this league, and that might get taken out on the team unfairly.

Early contender for the Shockernet mixed metaphor award, but I agree wholeheartedly!
