Porter had 4 assists and 1 turnover. The rest of the team had 5 assists and 13 turnovers. TE had no assists and 3 turnovers. If there is 1 thing that is killing this team it is our assist to turnover ratio. I remember a few years ago going many games in a row with single digit turnovers and lots of assists. Please learn to value every possession!

I got into it with Mike once during the Todd Butler free fall. Maybe his 3rd season iirc. He basically said that I was a “clueless fan” and that Todd would have the baseball team a perineal top 10 team.

This situation is eerily similar. Controversial parting with a legend coach followed by a rapid decent and denial by the university and those “in the know”

I remember hearing constantly what a good recruiter Todd was and that he was so likable.

I did not see the game. Tried to follow a little while at work. But just looking at stats a few things stick out:
--another poor showing from the 3 pt line
--i think I can live with the rebounding margin, -5, however, giving up 14 offensive boards is too many
--12 TO to 11, pretty good, but 26-6 points off TO, they litterrly scored off EVERY TO
-- UH with 8 blocks, either we are weak around the basket, or our guards tried to attack vs larger players

All in all, another poor effort, not much talent on the floor, and we sit on the bottom of the conference.
Still worried about defections at end if year....

We also lost to Indiana St. by 13 at home in our final 4 season. What does that mean?

He will transfer to a Big12 school and thrive. With the right coaching and a real offense he is NBA talented. I can see him playing at KU or Texas and averaging 15 plus.

The Shocks had 6 turnovers in the 1st 10 minutes of the game but to their credit only had 8 the rest of the way, although the atomic bomb late was a killer. The Shocks ended up with only 1 more turnover than Houston. However, Houston outscored the Shocks 26-10 on points off of turnover so Houston scored just about everytime the Shocks turned it over.

Furthermore, the Shocks continue to have more turnovers than assists as they had only 9 assists on 23 baskets vs 14 turnovers. Houston 16 assists on 29 baskets vs 13 turnovers.

This assist to turnover ratio has been pretty consistent throughout the year for the Shocks. To some degree it may indicate that their offensive scheme, such as it is, just does not create or encourage a lot of assists. OTOH, to get an assist you need to make a pass and make a shot. Neither of which appear to be strengths of this team.

.500 in conference would be fantastic at this point

Yes both. Never once have I seen a coach ripping into refs do anything but hurt their team

It shows your players that you have their backs.
