The last 3 or so recruiting classes across both coaches have been failures. Tyson looked like the only real win out of those..
But whatever the NBA scouts told him ruined his game. How you go from player of the year to leading the team in air balls i don't know

Gee, I remember Marshall coaching us to a huge win against Nationallly ranked Memphis just a few seasons ago…in front of a HUGE home crowd. Ah, those were the days.

Notice the last two years which directly fed these players to this team. Marshall didn't exactly make these players an offensive juggernaut

But he also not let them play this poorly. Sitting players for poor effort, getting in faces at mid court on time outs. I see no fire from this staff, no consequences for poor effort, etc..

I knew after the Memphis game last year IB was never going to be the guy to keep this run going. There are of course outlier games during a season, but at some point 30+ games in, you kind of know what you have.

Memphis has the kind of talent that can do that to you. However, the red flags for me were raised during post-season play last year. Barely escaping with a 68-67 win over 8th seeded USF as the No. 1 seed in the AAC Tournament and then losing 59-60 to 5th seeded Cincinnati before playing even worse in the 1st round loss to Drake in NCAA Tournament.

I wonder if the permanent HC job offer would have still been made if they had waited until the season was over? Probably, but who knows?

While that game wasn’t the least bit competitive…. It was still a winnable game until the “five second” call late in the first half. We were completely disoriented and gave up an easy lay-up to T. Harris.

A timeout before the five second call and we have the ball down 4-6 points. Instead it ended up being the beginning of a huge Memphis run.
