At least Dex doesn't go around forcing ****. He still plays great D. My only knock on Dex is his failure to hit wide open shots.

That’s a big knock too because it’s supposed to be one of his calling cards. Right now he’s a one dimensional player.

I know we all like to make fun of Stevenson, but Tyson is doing exactly what ES likes do with his selfish play. The difference is that ES gets steals and blocks. Not saying I prefer ES, but goes to show how bad Tyson is right now.

Except Stevenson is/was a jackass who tried to sabatoge the program and was a ball of discontent from the second he arrived here.

TE is a character guy who will change his game if he has to for us to win, I’m fairly certain.

You cannot compare anything about the two as basketball players because it goes way beyond statistics.

Character aside, Tyson’s statistics are bad bad bad. We need players that are efficient, protect the ball and play as a team,

I am not sure I can say that K-State deserved to win this game. I really don't think they earned it. OTOH, there is no doubt the Shocks deserved to lose this game.

Hopefully, it will serve as a wake up call for both the players and the coaching staff. Now whether or not they are capable of a critical introspection and then have the ability and determination to make the necessary adjustments remains to be seen. If they don't or can't do that then HCIB's apologies don't really mean very much.

You are absolutely right. Fuk that apology. The game plan should had more open shots for KP RC4 and JP. They seem to be able to hit open shots. When they shoot I think it's going in even when they miss. But if the plan is going to let TE jack up any kind of shot he wants and wait for DD miss another wide open 3 pointer this team will continue to struggle on offense.

I think the NBA guys told TE what he needed to work on to have a shot at the NBA. That would, naturally, be the weakest parts of his game. Well, that's what he's working on. He's constantly "working on" the weakest parts of his game in games.

When he stands holding the ball 5' past the half court line and waving his hands in ways that the other players aren't understanding (while 8 seconds run off the shot clock) that's going to be a wasted possession.

Looking at this from a player's standpoint (non TE)...I have a real hard time staying on the ship if TE's selfish play isn't addressed immediately. I don't care if I'm the next best or the last walk-on....you have a roster full of kids who are being asked to sacrifice a lot of things, to put in a lot time, a lot of work - all for Wichita State. When our best player gets to play for Tyson Etienne #1 and Wichita State #2 how long do you expect the others to go along with this (looking at you IB)?

Very fair points…first crisis in IB’s career could go along way in his success as a coach based on how he handles it.

To make matters worse, IB publicly stated before the season that he was going to utilize TE more to elevate his NBA chances. Sounds good in theory, not looking too good in practice.
