Can someone who doesn't use a box, but just plugs the coax into the tv, check channel 98 and see if it's broadcasting in HD?

Sometimes if you go hunting around in various setups on an HDTV, you can find those HD signals on strange channels even when just plugged in directly by coax. At least I was able to do that a few years ago when I got my first little 24 inch HDTV. I may have been on "Air" rather than "Cable" in order to do so, I don't remember for sure.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

There are some channels that come in HD when just plugged in without the box. The TV in my bedroom gets some of the basic (CBS,NBC,ABC,FOX and a couple others) stations HD broadcast. I don't know the exact channels as I just channel up past 70 something and they show up. Don't know if that's something they'll do with 22 or not though. Maybe they should think about that. But they probably won't because they want everyone to buy the digital package so they can make more money.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.

Hopefully even in SD on channel 22 it will look better. There is no reason why SD broadcasts have to look as bad as 22 has been looking. If they start with a good HD signal, that should improve the SD picture. You would hope that they can get close to what watching a game in SD ESPN or Fox Sports would look like then.
