Yea great point. I'm sure it never occurred to HCGM to call the likes of SLU, UNM & MTSU. How much time to you think Marshall has spent on the phone each year hoping to land a H/H series with teams like that? Give him a ring when he gets home. He might make you Vice President In Charge of Ideas He's Never Thought of Before. The BB gives him a good solid H/H with quality opponents...without putting one second of his efforts in doing so.

I agree; all in fun. With respect to my point that the BB isn't that great, imagine the reaction here if WSU had lost to Davidson. It's all wine and roses now, after our victory, but a loss would have had serious negative consequences. We confirmed that we are for real but didn't really gain any ground except among poll voters who were not paying attention. The selection committee will be paying attention and this victory, while nice, will not count for much when it comes time for seeding.

But we don't know what this game means, or doesn't mean at the start of the season. Under normal circumstances, we need a quality RPI game at this point in the year to get consideration. How often on this board have we all been critical of our SHOX about not taking advantage of opportunities. If you can't win when the chips are on the line...shame on you. If you don't win the big games you don't deserve to dance. WSU can't seem to get quality teams on the schedule on their own. The BB does that, plain and simple. Win the important games (I know...the're all important) and let the chips fall.

Can you imagine how good Davidson will be next Season? Their starters are all impressive but they did not get much bench help today. Thus, when they develop next Season and bring in some quality depth, watch out. They sure can shoot the rock!!!
