Interesting reading the Davidson fan site - start about halfway thru - (link in another thread). Prettty objective and lots of praise for the Shockers. One guy claimed the MVC crew was biased and got shot down. They are going to be a real tough team next year.

If you want to put your money where your mouth is, bet me next month's mortgage that I didn't graduate from WSU. I'll be more than happy to drive my *** to the Koch and whip out my diploma and gladly take your money.

I have made it clear that my allegiances lie with my school, state and then the midwest. I will root for KU anytime they are up against Duke, UNC, Kentucky, etc. Although I dislike many arrogant KU fan and KU's scheduling protocols in regards with us, I am not in bed with KU. Get over it son.

That's just dumb. You sound like fans of KU and other big teams explaining why they won't play Wichita State. Who cares if they're a scrappy team playing in their Super Bowl? You think we're not going to run into those teams in the tournament? It is almost literally their Super Bowl there.

Give me a game against a scrappy team playing in their Super Bowl over a lazy Procidence or Texas Tech any day! You want an appearance game. I'd rather have a game that actually prepares us for the tournament. KU loses to those scrappy teams playing in their SB all the time because they're too busy playing lazy teams.

And if we lost, that's on us, not the system. It's a tough game against a team giving their all. If we want to make any noise in March, we beat those teams. If we choke in those games, I don't care what our ranking is or how people view us, because we won't be winning the games that matter any way.

We have several "Davidsons" in the Valley, they are called Indiana St, Evansville, Drake, etc. We don't need to be playing another Evansville on the road in the #23 ranked conference in the nation. This was like a one-and-done with no payment. At least Syracuse payed us 80k to come down there and beat their ***. We lose to Syracuse no biggie; we lose to Davidson? Biggie...

And this was officially their largest attended game all year by 700 people (their barn holds 5k). We drew 1,000 more Davidson fans than their home game against Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt is a regional BCS team... That should say something about how geeked up this organization was to beat us.

Did we even get paid anything to play in this tournament? It cost us around $100,000 to privately fly (cause that's how we roll) our basketball program across the country to Davidson, NC and play a school of 1,920 Liberal Arts students.

Am I missing something here?

KC has posted on the davidson wildcats website since the 16 of feb.

I highly doubt a KU fan would do that. I don't doubt his allegiance, just his pessimism sometime, but its all good.

Why are the Shocks on the roll right now? 1. Senior and Junior leadership. Remember in times past when more experienced teams would give us fits? 2. When Ben and D-Will came into the starting line-up, we have been at our best. 3. Don't give up on Stutz!!! He was off some today, just as Paul Miller was on some match-ups his senior Season. Stutz is far from done and having a banner Season. 4. When Stutz is off, others step up and keep us winning. That even includes Mr. White. 5. Rags, Rags, Rags. Last Season, it too a spell before our point guard situation was intact. This Season, Rags has taken us to riches. Toure' has also got back to his mid range game and shoveling out assists like a rock star. 6. Today, as usual, our quality depth stepped up and our bench played a part. Few games occur where our bench has not prevailed. 7. I like 7's so here is one more. Our beloved Shocks bend, but do not break. On the cold and lonely road, we are 18-3 last and this Season combined on true road wins according to Mike Kennedy. NOW THAT is impressive and we are making our throws!!!!!!

Looking at our schedule, since the loss to Temple, we have had three 8 game winning streaks. We are no on a 6 game streak. If we hold course, we are scheduled to lose again in our first game at Arch Madness. Of course if we go on another 8 game winning streak, that should take us through a National Championship and into next season... GO SHOX!!!!

Hardly, I was one of many that didn't understand a "complex offense" that entailed going down the floor and jacking up the first 3 you see. HCGM employed his system before he had the players to play it come hell or high water. Those days are behind us though as the stable is now full of horses. I always believed he was a great recruiter and hoped he would have enough to create the kind of talent disparity in the Valley that he had in the Big South. It appears he has enough.

And his brash public persona is excusable when he is winning.

Agreed. Nice balance of all aspects: good size, athletic, good defense, good coaching, etc. Could go a long way in tourney.

Wanted to add that WSU is a damn good team. I was hoping that their recent hot shooting would run out before today, but it clearly didn't. As long as they shoot like that, they can play with anybody. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they ended up with a pretty high seed--perhaps a 4 or 5. They start 4 seniors and a junior and are dominated by upperclassmen. I'll have them going far in my bracket.

That was the best half of basketball anyone has played against us all season, including Duke. That's a very solid deep talented team.

I think what this game has shown me is that I've overrated us a little bit. We're a decent team, but we're no WSU, not even close.
