One of the things I don’t know in relation to hiring IB as coach is if there was a budget limit? Maybe WSU didn’t have enough money to offer a high level coach to come to WSU.

With budget constraints, maybe IB made the most sense. I don’t know anything for a fact, just my wondering.

I have kind of heard that also. They hired what the best they could for the money they had. They didn't have the money to go for a splashy hire.

As to Aargh’s comment about Shaq’s recruitment and being unmotivated and not a hard worker( paraphrased), I have nephew who coached him as an assistant at Edmond Sante Fe ( before Shaq moved to Edmond Memorial) and he said “ he’ll never make it under Gregg Marshall....he will quit first”... I USED to bring that fallacy up to my nephew... no I kind of wish he HAD quit

He did quit. The problem was Marshall never quit on him.

Sounds like it's a formality at this point that Brannen is out at Cincy. They are pressing the hard reset button. Thankfully there are a few big name coaches floating out there and 1000s of transfers to choose from so hopefully they wont fall off the map. I bet Archie Miller gets a good look.
