I looked at the bracket and standings yesterday and, if we manage to stay in first place, these are the teams we would most likely have to get through to win a championship.

Round 1 vs 8/9 winner - USF, Temple, or Tulane
Round 2 vs 4/5 winner - SMU, Cincinnati, Tulsa, or UCF
Round 2 - Houston or Memphis

Applying all relevant assumptions, SMU as a second round matchup is ideal. They are very close to being a Q1 neutral win (no idea how feasible it is they get there). It’s up for debate who is a better team, them or Memphis. I lean Memphis in general plus they have the advantage of having played a game in the last month.

Four more wins, one being SMU, and I will feel pretty comfortable about our at large chances.

With UCF's win over ECU, the AAC Tournament seedings coming into focus.

• If we're the No. 1 seed, we'll play the winner of USF v. Temple at 11 a.m. ET on Friday. ESPN2
• If we're the No. 2 seed, we'll play the winner of Tulsa v. (Tulane or ECU) at 7 p.m. ET. ESPNU
• If we're the No. 3 seed, we'll play the winner of ECU v. (Tulane or ECU) at 9 p.m. ET ESPNU

We know Houston is a great team. Memphis looks really tough since they beat us by 20. That Saturday rematch should be intense after the way the last week has unfolded.

SMU is a complete wild card. They’re better than Cincinnati but haven’t played in a month. I still think they’ll win but I’m not making any bets.

USF vs Temple should be fun as well. I think Temple wins but wouldn’t mind a third game with USF because our games against Temple tend to be so exhausting for fans.

For now I’m glad we’re on the opposite side of Memphis although I would love to see the guys get another chance at them. They’re a smothering defensive squad, rebound well and deserve a ton of credit for beating us at their place but we also just missed a lot of open looks. I’d like to think we’ve improved since then and that they wouldn’t shoot as well as they did that night.

WSU, Memphis, or Houston will win the tournament and I think all three are worthy NCAA teams.

I have watched a lot of basketball this year. And there is no doubt in my mind that WSU, Houston, and Memphis should all be in the tournament.

I watched a replay of the WSU women's game today against USF in Dickies Arena. I assume the men will play on the same installed court. One thing I was not wild about is the the apron on the sidelines looks to be about 6 feet from the court sideline to the edge of the apron where there looks to be about a 4" drop off to the concrete floor. Maybe I am way off on those dimensions but I hope the players are made aware of that for there own safety.
