I hope we see a lot of "good" Monzy vs. Houston. The skillset he brings, and his energy are exactly what we need to compete on the boards and elsewhere with the Cougs. Dex pulling down 10+ boards aggressively is also important.

Of the games we need to reschedule:

SMU: On Pause
Memphis: On Pause
ECU: On Pause
Cincy: Played Yesterday nothing else until Sunday
USF: Play Wednesday vs UCF

Only Cincy could have worked, but I'm sure weather factored in as they would have to play tomorrow to fit it between their game and our Houston game. So they would have had to fly out today. Then play tomorrow then fly back then get ready for Houston on Thursday. Houston game is way more important than the Cincy game.

It would be nice if Dexter can stay out of foul trouble so he can do most of the work on Grimes. Not to mention Dexter’s offensive output of late has been a huge boost.

Monzy is coming off one of his best games and brings a much needed scoring and rebounding punch. If he can play solid defense and take smart shots he’ll be a net positive.

Gilbert has been steady and reliable almost all season. As Dan said, if he can hit his open threes at a higher clip he's that much more difficult to guard. Even if his outside shot isn’t falling on a given night the team benefits from his presence when he maintains focus on defense, helps out on the boards, and limits turnovers.

Ricky Council is in a bit of a slump similar to what Monzy went through earlier in the year. I do think his defense is improved. He just needs to go back to basics - rebound and get out in transition - and he’ll be fine.

Houston is one of the best teams in the country. We can beat them but it’s going to take everyone’s best effort for 40 minutes. We’ve seen what happens when you let down, even slightly, against them.

I know some don't care for Mark cause he can be a bit over the top, but I love the guy. He's been a true ambassador for our team for years now and loves our city and program.
