I don't remember how much notice was required but I don't think it was too onerous.

The WSO would then resale those released tickets. In addition, the season ticket holder would receive an acknowledgment of the tax deductible gift made to the WSO for the value of the released tickets.
The Shockers have this--it's called Ticket Marketplace, and the owner even gets 95% or more of the ticket value if sold.

This. What we should probably do is mention it once a game during the non-conference just so everyone is aware that it is available.

Don Hall: "Hey Shocker fans! Out of town and can't make the next home game? Put it on the Shocker ticket marketplace and get paid 95% of the ticket value! Visit Goshockers.com for more details!"

            Problem solved. You're welcome.

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I also dont like the empty seats, but i refuse to tell people what to do with what they pay for. Especially when it helps the program much more than what 2 hrs on the deuce does.
What's the point of having all the money if you can't get a decent level of support at your basketball games to help cheer the team to the ultimate goal of winning basketball games? The "it's all about the money" lines are exactly what the current administration puts as top priority. That is made evident in a lot of things, notably the in-game production. As long as we get our money, who cares??? Right????????

Exactly. Its the chicken and the egg. But we have the benfit that the chicken house is full and producing a lot of eggs. So its ok if a few of the chickens cant produce every time. There are still plenty eggs.

Would you rather have 10,300 fans at any given basketball game and Coach Marshall or 10,500 fans at any game and Coach Lowery? I promise if you select the second you will only get a seasons worth of 10,500 seats filled and then the 90's all over again.

Gripe about the production all you want but dissing sponsors is bad mojo.

The point of the thread was to come up with ways to improve environment. A full house of rabid fans is the goal night in and night out. So I guess we are just supposed to accept less an optimal conditions and discussing ideas to improve them is out of bounds?

Except there is no question which came first. The answer is the program. The donors are on-board because of the time and effort of people going way back to a day before many of us were even born. It was chic make a big fat donation when everyone's brokerage accounts were fat and the economy was booming. Jim Schaus promised that WSU Basketball would be relevant again if money was poured into upgraded facilities, so these fat cats stepped in to get a nice tax write-off and a good SASO priority number. Once.

The prime seats which are now repeatedly empty were doled out riding the wave of large one-time donations to the Roundhouse project. It is time to move on from that and give loyal, appreciative and REAL fans their seats back.

The KU game crapola just underscores this for me. If that was the reason for all the empty seats on Saturday, then screw those people. To maintain seats in those areas, donors have to give at SASO Guardian level, so equivalent money will be available once the one-time donors are squeezed out of them.

It can't be about money all the time.

Oh, and one more thing - if dark clothes are the problem, those people are wearing silver numbers on their chests. Furthermore, the marketing people can't even muster enough effort to work a "Wear Yellow" campaign for an ESPN game? Sad.

Since they are monitoring who is attending and who isn't by beeping at the door, they should just consider the attendance record in the reshuffle that's about to happen.

I am afraid the reshuffle is actually going to create a worse environment at times. The prices will go up again and less of the rabid fans will be able to afford tickets. Either that or more people are going to take a chance on just getting single game tickets rather than season tickets. I think the way it is currently is probably better than what is about to happen. Remember that the corporate tickets are down lower which have a higher SASO donation attached which accounts for more points.

                            Donor list

Does anybody have a 2011-2012 program and if so, does it include a Donor list for SASO. In previous years, it did. I'd be curious to know the number listed for each of the Donor categories.

I think they should stop accepting donations and just give seating based on loudness. We should all "occupy CKA."
