Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

Wow, Creighton's line is just 2?? I mean I know we only won there by 3, but I figured Dougie would be favored by more.

Yep. I would say that is the easiest bet of the day. UNI is not the UNI of old.
Marge: The plant called and said that if you don't come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.
      Homer: WOOHOO! Four day weekend.

Might ChiSt actually be favored in a game?
No. New Jersey Institute of Technology (isn't that an oxymoron?) has a kenpom power ranking of 309 compared to ChiSt's 338 ranking. The home court might be enough to swing this one to ChiSt.

The grudge match at UNI could get interesting. In addition to the billboards all over Iowa when McD left for ISU, and the stealing of Dougie Mac from UNI, there's another twist.

Grant Gibbs was recruited by Jacobsen out of high school. Gibbs grew up about a 45 minute drive from McLeod. When he transferred from Gonzaga, he got down to either UNI or CU. He says he thought Dougie was going to be a special player and that's why he chose CU over UNI. Bad blood between those schools seems to be building. The kitties could be angry snarling Panthers tonight. "Any given night" often become "tonight" when one team is playing with "attitude".

The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

The CU at UNI game is on TV today (I believe MVC-TV: Fox Sports KC, Midwest, Chicago Comcast, Fox College Sports and espn3). Game starts at 4:05 pm CST.

SIU wins 53-52, what an exciting game that must have been.

Another moral victory for the Aces.

Ugh, ESPN3 is so frustrating. 9 times out of 10 I can't watch Creighton games on it. Freaking useless...

UNI up 31-30 at the half.

Student section was holding up the #1 finger. Not quite as effective when you're sitting in the middle of the standings.
Three things in life are constant- death, taxes, and Creighton losing in the first weekend of the tournament.

                      AAC or Bust!

Yes, it was. After all they trailed 23-34 at half.

UNLV gets upset by 87-RPI Wyoming on the road- not a bad loss, but one they probably should have won.

Not a bad loss. Interesting though, all four of their losses were on the road to Top 100 teams.

WYO is solid this year. Never easy to play in Wyoming, as the Shockers should know. I expect Shyatt to do good things there.
