We handled Okla St and Old Miss easily last season with a record of 23-8 and you guys think we are better?
I don't think so. With 23 regular season games I think our high side is 14-9 and low side more like 12-11.

Mitgaard will be our biggest loss. We need size and experience in the middle.

player........yet. With his abilities I would expect to see a minimum of 10ppg and 8 boards a game. I'd also like to see more energy
and enthusiasm. He should be our leader this season along with AG. Only one game but for our team to compete with the likes
of Houston and Memphis I'm looking for much more out of him. He has to elevate his game consistently. If he can and Bilau is a
very pleasant surprise defensively and on the boards we could finish in the top four of the conf. btw, DD last season was only
a 35% shooter with 5 boards per game
For some reason I get the feeling that DD might have been sandbagging/deferring a little against ORU; they also keyed on stopping him. On the other hand, maybe he wasn’t feeling well or his shorts were too loose.

I rewatched part of the ORU game and I’m less on board with the anti-Udeze sentiment than before.

He had two really nice moves to start the game. One post move on the block and then he drove his man from a foot or two inside the three point line. He did ultimately miss both shots but he’s shown a knack for finishing in traffic in previous years so it’s not out of the question that those would have fallen on a different night.

As far as him vs Jaime I think Mo is actually more mobile than Jaime. Obviously he lacks Jamie’s length but I think he might be a little better suited to chase around stretch 5’s. Maybe not.

His attention to detail on box outs needs to improve as well but there were several other guys I could say the same thing about.

It will also benefit him to recognize when to make a move and when to just go right up with the ball. For example early on he got a nice offensive rebound and could’ve gone right back up with it and scored. Instead he spun to the paint, away from the basket, allowing better defensive position for the opposing team. He did get fouled but he made things more difficult than necessary.

I need to watch the rest of the game but I’m moving more towards cautiously optimistic on Mo.

Not to make excuses, but the guys hadn’t practiced much and didn’t have their game legs... with the exception of Mr. “Action” Jackson, it looked like some of them were winded; continually missing box-outs and rebounds, playing with cement in their shoes.

First post since last season...glad we’re back to some basketball, what a relief. Lots of not so good things have happened since last season so I was glad for the players and staff that they got the win and we had some big time performances. Etienne and Gilbert are a handful. Guard play won’t be a weakness. Missouri will be a good test, no home court advantage now and that sucks, new norm uggh
