Should we be concerned that South Carolina is winless in the SEC and below .500?

Maybe. Lamb's deal is not a fair comp, is it?

If Marshall stays at WSU a few more years, he can get offers that would be far better opportunities than a complete rebuild at SC.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I agree, but I don't know if that even matters.

I'm guessing Marshall will stay here long enough to see his grandkids play.

This discussion is a by-product of success and winning. I for one am thankful that we are discussing these things. However, I wish that people would just enjoy the ride and do their best to make the Marshall basketball feel welcome and supported. As long as the University and booster support system stay competitive and the coaching staff feels loved, who knows how long they'll be here.

I shouldn't have to remind fans but there is nothing, nothing "Mid Majorish" about our program. And it is certainly not a major rebuilding project like an awful lot of open positions will be. Not to mention, there aren't too many places where basketball is "THE" sport like it is here.

Heck, Turgeon stayed here longer then he did at A&M and he left for a school where basketball is "The" sport.

Wichita may not have mountains or an ocean but if you're a top notch college basketball coach, it's pretty darn good. Could we please not start up the coaching insecurities before we've even finished the season?

Why not. He's had options to go elsewhere. He's often said when asked, that he has friends at BCS schools who are'nt happy. Greener pastures aren't always greener.

Cause he's never been offered a $700,000 raise?

He already has 1.5 Million a year for the next 7 years with a 100K raise each year (I think). I think that he wanted security for his family. If he is type of person who places that much on 500K a year more, he'll be looking for the first BCS job out. I think that he thinks that his compensation for the next 7 years are enough. I think that if he leaves, it is for a location I'm not sure that his home hasn't changed now.

Whatever. DTSB has a hunch Marshall's leaving this year. My hunch says he stays until his son graduates H.S. or longer.

I think he'll stay with a hefty pay raise

He is indeed a keeper. I do like our guard mix for next Season. We are losing some key players with solid players waiting in the wings to replace them. The Shocker beat goes on.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
