  • A lot of fans from other MVC teams think the Shockers are going to have a big drop off next year. Man are they in for a rude surprise.

    • I agree. The Salukis may suck but you must give credit to all of the bench players on this team regardless. Great team effort.

We are going to have a big drop off. Lots of new faces next year. If any one of those new faces fits in as well as Hall, our drop off will be followed by an even bigger rampup in the second half of the season.

          • I hope Chris Lowery has put some money away.

            • I'm not sure I've been to a conference game at Koch Arena when the visiting team didn't bring at least a few fans along. The row of chairs behind SIUs bench was completely empty (until the 2nd half when a handful of WSU fans made their way down and took advantage of the prime seating).

It appears as if that program has very minimal support which is kinda sad.

              • They flew in on a commercial flight. There were a couple comments overheard about a couple people that couldn't make the trip due to "budgetary concerns"

Obviously it wasn't players, but there were people upset that certain people were not able to go.

                • The Shocks had high octane energy levels on the D which was great to witness. We need this each and every game. We also did not lose this needed game as we did last Season. can u dig that? Groovy!!!!!!!

                  • Jake and EO playing with a lot more confidence. Jake with some great, strong rebounds as well as showing he can handle the ball. EO gets in peoples heads and changes shots.

Great for guys to step up when we need them.

Get well Garrett, we still need you.

                    • :excitement:Holy moly guacamole! What can you say. Simply outstanding work by the whole team. If you had told me at the first media timeout with the score tied 2-2, Garrett on the shelf and Carl on the bench with 2 fouls that we would come away with a 85-42 win I think I could easily had you committed to a mental institution on the spot.

                      Super job, Shocks. Simply super!

                      :good:

                      • So, our average margin of victory when we sit one player is 40 points. What's the matter with Gregg? Why doesn't he sit two?

                        • Hall struggled with fouls tonight. However, who was the last Shocker big that had such strong and sure hands in receiving the rock?

                          • Liked HCGM's comment about the two fouls on Carl in the first two minutes. "Carl coming to the bench at the 18 minute mark was our worst nightmare". The way EO played was tremendous and Jake White looked like he played with a purpose. Everyone played defense well and the dogs couldn't get anything to work. Great game for the Shox in that alot of guys got playing time and the usual suspects didn't have extend themselves. Thought Mike Kennedy had a great observation "at some point in a season you need people to rise up and take over the game" we saw that tonight as the whole bench rose up. What a great way to start the last 1/3 of the conference race.

                            • I tell you who didn't play well for the Shocks, ummmm, ummmm. Nevermind!

                              • Did anyone else get excited about EO's strong board then quick, without thinking, outlet to Cotton?

I know Coach Marshall did. Do describe it the best I know how, think of Denzel Washington and Will Patton coaching "Remember The Titans" when they look at each other when Garry and Julius do their Strong Side bit. That was Marshall and Jans.

Also liked White's take on the break where he went strong to the hoop and finished.
