Get a grip people. We were up 8 at halftime. We played a good first half, then absolutely imploded in the 2nd half. We lost the game in the 2nd half, we didn't lose every aspect of the game. There are things to be happy about, especially Hall's performance. It's one game in a long list of other Valley games. It's Creighton at home, I know that. But lets all just take a deep breathe and carry on.

WSU can absolutely dominate teams, even good ones, and, eventhough they're doing that better this year, they still fall into these long funks. It's like Jekyll and Hyde with very little in between. We saw it against Utah St. Sometimes, the great doesn't even show up.....Alabama and Temple. It happens to all teams in varying degrees.
All teams have their ups and downs, but not all teams can put on the offensive AND defensive show WSU has shown to do. UNLV and Bradley witnessed full games of it. But the Shocks don't need to beat ranked teams by 19 and others by 39. They need more consistency. WSU is very talented, they are balanced, and they are deep. You can't stop them by shutting down one player and you shouldn't be able to run them into the ground. Their success will depend on having shorter and fewer funks. No way CU should have out scored WSU at home 59-34 over 33 minutes. 59-49 would not have been good, but it would have yielded a 76-68 win.

The problem was playing CU pretty much even, at home, the rest of the game with each team having their good moments and bad. That's how you become a real contender.

I understand we lost at home to creighton, but it's one game. Lets move on.
Yup, we out rebounded them. Big newsflash for a Shocker team of late. We probably have done this a number of times when we've lost. Yup, we had 1 less TO, 1 more steal, and the same number of fouls. Oh, and the stats said we had 3 fewer assists for a total of 9. Hopefully, the coaching staff is not taking the same line as you feeling that ice cold shooting was pretty much it. Yes, lets move on.

I don't get it. From the looks of this thread a lot of people were expecting a win. I'm not trying to sell the Shox short, but I didn't think we'd beat CU at home--I thought we could beat them, but I sure wasn't expecting it. A lot of us a short time ago predicted we'd have 3-4 Valley losses by the end of this season. Now we're up in arms because we lost one Valley game to an oustanding ranked opponent? Isn't this one of those losses many of us predicted? Let's get upset if we lose to the bottom feeders. Exercise some hope that this team takes care of business with the bottom feeders, and realize anything can happen in Omaha. We played like piss once again. What's frustrating is we played so poorly, made so many dumb decisions and were still in the game. This team has a ton of talent. I just wish they had the basketball IQ to go along with it. Hopefully we're recruiting smarter players like Cotton and FVV to help avoid such horrendous play.
Poor shooting is one thing and it happens. Poor shot selection is completely different. There were a number of poor shots no matter what 3G says.
There's no sense in jacking up 26 three's if you're not hitting them. Attack the damn basket by feeding the post or penetrating. Settling for jump shots, especially early in the clock is just stupid. But it's something we do far too often. And when things get tough, we do it even more. Games will be won inside out. Not the other way. Once our guards learn that and accept it, the better off we'll be.
9 assists? Sounds about like every other loss we have....Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.

Anybody who sees that we did more good than bad in that game REALLY needs to move on..
And + 100 Sub. Look at the 3 losses so far this year. You'll see low assist numbers and really absurdly high 3-point shot attempts in all of them.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
