If he's the guy I found, his Twitter says he played basketball here. I believe it said he got a business degree from WSU as well. But there's no evidence I could find that he was on the team in any capacity, unless he was some kind of manager. I didn't look at those names. But that would be a bit of a stretch if he said he played and wasn't just a part of the team.

Did we have a lot of injury problems during that time? Could he have been an extra body brought in so they could go five on five?

    • I’d make a comment about transgender, but it would probably get me kicked off SN.

I'm at a loss...my niece said to me "that guy played at WSU and then transferred to______....go say hi!" So I talked to him quite a while, but not much about game specifics...anyway, I DO think it is common to get scrimmage help...maybe that was it....I hate to cast aspersions.....

          • If I had played here in the '90's I probably wouldn't mention that to anybody.

            • Let me reiterate this one more time. If we are talking about any time from later in the Turgeon era over to early in the Marshall era, this guy did not play men’s basketball at Wichita State. I am 99.999999% sure that he was not even involved with the men’s basketball program. I don’t want to have to be “that guy,” but trust me when I say that he did not play here.

Oh, I'm not doubting you...but I think there have been in the past ramifications for putting that stuff out there when not true, so I wonder...why would someone say it?

Probably in the way he is doing it, there is no harm to putting it on your social media accounts. And maybe he was a practice player for the women's team, and thus, he can say that with a morsel of honesty. Who knows?

                  • I played intramural basketball for the Nuns of the Holy Savior University when my team put me in for clean up duty with 23 seconds left one time at band camp. Hell, I have taken the liberty several times in my singles life at the pick up bars to actually say I played ball at NHSU. It never yielded a babe but it sounded good in my head in the moment.

"Former Wichita State basketball standout Shaq Morris stopped by our building today and took a tour. Shaq is living in Wichita and working in a federal government-related job..."

My comment (Not Bob's): I have to wonder if he was a DEI hire.

                        • Government jobs generally don't require hard workers and you can slide by on the bare minimum. Especially at the federal level. Will be a DOGE casualty?

I'm honestly surprised he's still in Wichita. Figured he'd want to escape all the horrors and personal trauma he allegedly suffered here.

As a lower level government employee I'm a little surprised he'd be in the same neighborhood as Ron.
