    • been watching the mls matches pretty much non-stop for a week or so. has the feel of watching a high school game with professional athletes. i hope that there are fans at the games (should they play).. college basketball is much more watchable with a good crowd.

I don't get that all. They can put controls in around the players and what they do and who they come in contact with. They have zero ability to control what fans do. I think it's pretty easy to justify if they put the thought process in.

If they don't want to put any effort into thinking through the process and just run everything as "business as usual" .. then sure it's hard to justify.

Um, because you are talking about 13 players from each team in a larger area as opposed to 10,500 fans crammed in to seats right next to each other. Not really hard to understand or explain.

            • The tough sell would be convincing anyone to go to Texas or Florida to play a game if things don't impove significantly in those states.

Maybe.. But as long as those schools are following the same protocol, they are going to fly private or drive to those destinations anyways then it's still not a huge risk

I'm confused, you said you were watching MLS, but you also said professional athletes?

Uh, you don't think things will improve in 4 months? Unless you think the entire population is going under?

Hell NY with its lofty 32,000 death hell recovered in less than 2 months.

                    Deuces Valley.
                    ... No really, deuces.

The places where things are going poorly aren't doing anything resembling what NY did when they had their problem. Right now we have 30+ states with more people exposing others every day than they had the day before. If that's a factor of more testing, then we've had bad info on transmission possibilities before now.

Name one thing that indicates things will improve in the next 4 months. Everything I've seen that would contribute to improvement in the next 4 months is being opposed by enough of the population that cases are not going to decline. We need some changes in attitude among a significant portion of the population.

Dex is from Louisiana, which had a major problem after Mardi Gras, got that one under control, then had the geographic spread hit it again. I believe Dex has a pretty good idea of how the virus spreads.

The decision of any player to come to Kansas right now is going to involve our response to CV.

                        Fever,
Aargh is probably a really good guy. But he sits in his home, watches the MSM, reads Yahoo and Huffington Post garb and frets over the world catching fire in the next week.
He has health conditions and is concerned about COVID19 and I get that . But the world needs to move on and go about our business.
If you have health issues and immune system deficiencies, then stay home and order in. Todays world will deliver everything from pizza, groceries, meds... even your viagra!
But spouting continuously about how bad life is in this country to this extent is probably making 'chicken little' blush.

                        That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

lol you better believe there's bad info out there. You're just feeding what the mainstream media is feeding you.

And like ShockRef said, those with underlying health issues and that are older are obviously more fearful of the effects. So I understand why you feel the way you do. If those with underlying conditions and the elderly simply continued to avoid social interaction with everybody, then the highest risk segment of the population will fail to get sick. The less risky groups should be able to move on and decide what's best fit for them. If you aren't interacting with anybody, then you shouldn't have to worry. But that doesn't mean you should be telling everybody else what to do either.
