They rode the bench, but many followed that up by having pretty damn solid years at other schools.

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

        • Marine Corps boot camp, San Diego, California, 2008. My bunk mate was a young, portly kid from Nebraska named Skinner. Skinner was the private Pyle of our platoon—the whipping boy. On top of it all, he smelt terrible.

One particularly hot day, our Dill Instructors instructed us to dump our lockers. We obliged. When Drill Instructor Staff Sergeant Reaves walked by Skinner’s dumped locker, he smelt Skinner’s potent odor. “What the hell is that smell, Skinner?!” He then proceeded to grab Skinner’s laundry bag, and dump it on the floor. Inside, the source of that awful stench. Skinner had been sh!tting in his skivvies and putting it in his locker. He was too scared to ask the Drill Instructors to use the head. He was sh!tting himself constantly.

Our team sh!t themselves worse than Skinner, no doubt about it.

We were an NIT team last year too, as I recall, with a significantly worse record and placement.

I want to throat punch Kubler & Ross, Lunardi and the entire staff of ESPN...where does that put me on the scale?

                • 1. TE and GS stand around too much and were absolutely dominated tonight. They are low energy. GS had a couple late
baskets but was pathetic almost the entire night. He was the biggest reason we got so far behind. Unless these two bring
some energy and ability to penetrate soon I'm ready for NF and ??.
                  2. Why rag on ES? At least he plays with passion and rebounds. MUCH better all around player than TE or GS.
                  3. No ball movement or player movement without the ball. We played lazy and not very smart.
                  4. Terrible shot by DD to close the half and then TE plays off Harris with a couple seconds left.
                  5. Seriously, if TE and GS can't play with more energy than what I witnessed tonight I'd rather see Busse.
                  6. GM didn't coach well tonight letting low energy players stay out there but have to give him credit for coaching this bunch
                  of players to 22 W's.
                  7. We are a much better team when ES starts and plays north of 25 minutes. He brings energy and passion that several
other players do not. If we lose him we will be in MUCH bigger trouble next year. He, JB and DD are the nucleus we
                  HAVE to keep !

Maybe so, but we were sooo bad at the beginning of last year that we had to play catch up just to make the NIT. Outside of Burton, I’m not sure any of our returners are better now vs end of last year.

Correct. We dont get consistent scoring inside. Other than JE who scores inside for this team?

Another glorious take. Only thing missing was the obligatory "AM should've seen some minutes" line.

                              Group misery, I get it.

                              • Here's the deal. The Tigers punched us tonight, we will beat Tulsa, and then we need at least 2 wins at the AAC tourney? Dunno, because the Shocks now are at the mercy of too many variables of other bubbles still in progress.

Five things were working against the Shocks tonight. Another cold shooting night which also included our poor free-throw shooting. Precious, Harris, and Lomax were tough tonight. The Tigers defense was better too than ours tonight. Yes, we will beat Tulsa. We get a bye I hope and then a win or 2 would sure help us in the AAC tourney. Go Shocks!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
