Come on, SIU, get yourself another win. You need them.

You would think that if your opponent shot 36.2% overall, 18.8% from 3, 63.0% from the line, and had 20 TO's, that you might win the game. Not SIU. Those were some of WM's stats and they won.
      WM - 54
      SIU - 43

SIU's 22 fouls, gave WM 27 FT's. Even with the 63% they shot from there, WM got 17 points at the line. SIU was 60% from the line, but theirs was 3/5 throws.

SIU's RPI went from 333 to 341 after the loss. There are only 344 D1 teams.

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

realtimerpi.com drops SIU to #342 in the RPI ahead of only #343 Binghamton and #344 Forida A&M. SIU is fortunate in that their loss to D-II Ohio Dominican is not counted.

SIU has games remaining at #320 Northern Illinois (0-8), at home vs #322 SIU-Edwardsville (2-6) and at home vs #70 Kansas State prior to the start of MVC play. Both of SIU-E's victories are against Non D-1 opponents.

So SIU still has rock bottom in its sights.

Western Michigan was 0-7 coming into today's game. Thanks to SIU Western Michigan got their FIRST win of the year.

Hopefully they can stop Northern Illinois (0-8) from getting their FIRST win of the season.

This is truly pathetic. Can the MVC call an emergency meeting and suspend them for rest of the year. We should not have to play these guys twice. Even beating them twice will really damage our rpi and if we happen to get unlucky and lose to them it will be season over.

Wow. The powerhouse known as Alabama beat sub .500 Detroit at home by 8, 62-54.

Note: Alabama's last opponent/loss, Dayton, managed a home win over USC Upstate, 72-68.

K-St won in OT at home over who? North Florida? Well, I guess at least they won.

              CS Fullerton 91, E Washington 76.

Don't be too quick to dismiss the Detroit win. They have a lot of talent and some quality losses. That was a dangerous game I promise.

I wonder if Ewok has his bags packed yet.

Well, we're just on different pages here. Detroit was being highly touted last year as a team to watch, didn't happen, and the same this year (we'll still see).

As for what they've done so far, not much. Out of their 5-7 record, 2 wins were over non-DI teams, a 2-7 W Michigan (263 RPI), OT win over Austin Peay 2-9 (261 RPI), and best win over St John's (4-5, current RPI 268) who will be looking at the bottom of the Big East.

Losses include 4-3 Youngstown (172 RPI) at home, 2-5 Akron (88 RPI expected to drop in the 115-120 range), 4-4 Bowling Green (RPI 245), 4-5 GW (95 RPI expected to drop to the 160 range), and W Kentucky (4-7, 235 RPI). Quality losses to Alabama and ND (another probable 2nd div Big East team). RPI's from rpiforecast.com

If we lose to SIU this year our season deserves to be over.

Unfortunately they will probably be playing a lot better by then and knock somebody off in the conference. Yet because of their horrible, horrible non-conference play their rpi will still stink.
