I have to admit that our fullcourt pressure seemed to bother the TU guards more than it should have. A full blown trapping press would really take them out of the ballgame.

There was absolutely no reason for them to mention Ksu and Ku during our games last year except for the fact that we all happen to be from the same state.
I assumed that those same announcers would give us the same respect and mention the good job that Marshall is doing at WSU when they are doing a game in WICHITA.
I haven't watched a Kstate basketball game in years (probably since the last time they played WSU). The ONLY reason I watched last night was to hear what the national tv announcers might say about our program since they happened to be in WICHITA. Kstate basketball was very painful to watch last night, I am really surprised their fans can sit through those games. I think that even I can shoot the ball better than anyone on their team.
At any rate I was very disappointed that I wasted my time, if the announcers did mention WSU at all, I missed it.

If Huggins said it good for him, even if it was only on local radio.

I am really miffed becasue they did not mention Friends, Kansas Newman or Kirsti Alley. An “Old West” Texas analysis and summary of Mueller report and Congress’ efforts in one sentence:
"While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it."

shox1989 - I enjoy most of your posts, but this love affair of yours with ESPN announcers and their courtship with WSU is weaker than watered down tea. Who gives a flip about announcers doing a game in Wichita between KSU & Huggy not including WSU in the menage a trois. Let's move on!!!

1). The fans I know of, like Wojick. He's a nice guy, active in the community, etc.
2). Remember, this is football country. Every headline in the local news is football first. Basketball takes a back seat.
3). Location to TU isn't the best for getting in/out. Most of the population that would go to a game, live south. The demographics of the town have changed a lot the last 20+ years. If the arena was in south Tulsa, they'd drawn more, IMO. Heck, it's easier - quicker to get to/from your home for an ORU game. (which by the way, if you ever get the chance, and have young kids...you need to go. Great family atmosphere at ORU).
4). Parking at TU games suck, and that's putting it nicely. If you think WSU parking is bad, you haven't seen nothing.
5). Again, media is an issue. They need more games on TV for the local fans to follow. Imagine if WSU didn't broadcast the Shockers away games, and a few of the home games. It's hard for TU to build a fan base without good local media backing.
6). Did I mention football? When the college football is "technically" over (bowl games), the average sport fans here need something to do before spring football starts back up. They'll pay attention to basketball at that time.
7). Not a very strong student body base. Nothing to help out there, just simply not a lot of students who would go watch a basketball game.
Add it all together, and you don't get many fans to a game. Honestly, I would imagine most folks here didn't even know there was a game last night.
That's pretty much the highlights...and I'm sure I'm missing something. That is all.
Good point, but it's not like WSU parking is wonderful, most fans don't live near Koch and while we have a good base of students, it's not like the student section is always packed full.

You have to get your games on TV if you want to expand your fan base. Tulsa hasn't been doing that.
Reviving the Wichita St-Tulsa Rivalry would probably do a lot more to help Tulsa than WSU. Unfortunately their Athletic Dept. doesn't seem to realize that.

Plus their promoter (or someone) spent a lot more money on promotion than our promoter did (other than the $30,000 that WSU budgeted, I am not sure our promoter spent anything on promotion besides couponing).
So I am not sure money wise if KSU or the KSU promoter did come out ahead of WSU or the WSU promoter even with a full (or almost completely full) house.
I will say it does look a lot better full on TV then it does with 3,000 plus empty seats but since our game wasn't on TV I guess that didn't matter as much to us either.
I was disappointed that I never heard the espn announcers say one word about WSU. That is the only reason I watched the game, I figured with the game being in Wichita they would say something about WSU at some point in the game. If they mentioned the Shockers, I didn't hear it.On twitter as @WuShocks
