You and I both know that it would drop them from a potential 3 seed to a 5 seed.
Comparatively say Creighton steals a game from you, then beats Evansville, Drake, UNI, but drops a game to Bradley it hurts their resume more. Drops them from a respectable 12 seed to not getting an invite.
Fair or not, perennial tourny teams (how did Arizona stay in all those terrible years) are cut more slack than MidMajors.
If KU (RPI 53) beats KSU (RPI 28), Missouri (RPI 40), Iowa State - who lost to Drake!! and then to Northern Iowa at home!! (RPI 45), Baylor (RPI 47), and Oklahoma (RPI 76, but loses to Texas Tech, that will drop them from a 3 seed to a 5 seed.
,
But, if CU (RPI 15) beats UNI (RPI 4), Indiana State (RPI 29), WSU (RPI 46), Missouri State (RPI 51) and Drake (RPI 96), but loses to Southern Illinois, they would drop from a 12 seed to the bubble.
Things are a little different this year. The way things are looking right now, there could be more opportunities to raise RPI in league play in the Valley than in the B12. The dogs at the bottom of both leagues are much worse in the Valley than the B12, but the B12 doesn't have much that looks like ranked teams throughout the season.
If you wouldn't mind parking your BCS bias at the door on a non-BCS board, you might be better received. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

With that said, at the end of the season when the 6 BCS conferences have all put in their 4-5 teams, the mid major conference champs go in, there aren't a ton of at large bids to go around. Like it or not the Valley gets little respect nationally and getting 2 bids is a solid year. In my example above I was putting CU as the 2nd bid as a favor to you all. I assumed my saying WSU would potentially lose to CU twice (you said it yourself they are playing great ball) plus lose one to UNI and then a game to a Bradley wouldn't have gone over well. But lets be honest, if CU cruises through the Valley and WSU loses to a bradley late in the season it will kill any decent seed hopes. I'm not saying its fair or logical, just saying that's the pattern history paints.

I've previously pointed out that this year, the top 6 teams in the B12 and the top 6 teams in the MVC are remarkably similar. An argument could be made that the MVC is a bit stronger 1-6 than the B12. One of the top 6 teams in the B12 has 2 losses to MVC teams.
Even after that and a request to drop the BCS elitist bias, the comment "after the BCS conferences get 4-5 teams in" is made. Followed by the MVC maybe getting two teams in.
Are you saying that if the teams in the Valley and in the B12 are approximately equal, that the B12 gets 4 or 5 bids and the Valley gets 2? That statement would fly here. That would indicate that the Selection Committee is more concerned with the name on the uni than the quality of the team.
Or are you saying that the quality of BCS teams is inherently better than the quality of mid-major teams, and the fact that a team is in a BCS conference means they deserve an invite over a mid-major team that by any measure other than the name on the uni seems to be at least equal to a BCS team? The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

RPI wise, UNI is being flattered by St Marys and Denver (really good team btw) and some teams (Providence for example) that have records beyond their skills. This could be a repeat of "figuring out the RPI" of sorts.
UNI really needs to win out in the non-conference because their RPI is going to be on a slow drain from here on out.

I was going to say it's silly to talk about CU being a 12 seed, but that's not fair to silly people. It's mentally irregular.
CU isn't going to be a 12 seed, period. They're going to lose 6 games, at the MOST, and be no worse than a 8 seed and as high as a 4.

Some serious Little Brother Syndrome going on in this thread. Instead of discussing my points you attack my school. You all hate KU. Yes, ok, get over yourselves. If every thread in this place devolves to GHEY WHO? comments then so be it, but don't pretend like that makes you classy.

So you're telling me that if a UNC fan comes to a KU board to discuss KU basketball and possibly troll a little bit that your fanbase will be completely classy with said fan? BTW, not sure I've read a "ghey who" comment in any thread you've been posting in unless you made the statement. Seems to me you may have a bit of a complex yourself.
