Maybe that is why I can remember that promotion, but I still can't tell you who sponsors it.

It's not a knock on anyone else, it's just not typical to see young people (and Carl if you're reading, the entire team is young to most of us) that have developed the skill of public speaking. Especially not with the deftness that Carl displayed last night. Well done young man.
Totally agree. The "yes sir" he said after each and every question he was getting was incredibly polite. Definitely has a great head on his shoulders. Very nice speaker.

His reply to the question of adjustments from JC to D-1 was interesting: (paraphrasing) You have to think a lot. We have maybe 80 sets to remember; in juco we had eight, maybe ten. You can't just play, you have to remember and think.

From the all access practice, there were maybe 6-7 'quicks" (methods of getting the ball up court); 25 sets, 6 zone defenses, 4-5 BLOBand 3-4 SLOBS. That's only 50 that I remember on the white board, so maybe there's more now.

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Combine that with the fact that he has to learn 2 positions and you can see why it would take a while to get in a groove.

          • I don't know about learning 80 plays...I just like the play where any of the other 4 Shockers on the floor at the time gets the ball to Hall on the low block and the ball goes in the basket for 2 points (and in some cases he gets fouled with an opportunity for an and-1).

              • Carl may be the best lay up shooter at WSU ever.

I kinda like it. FG% goes up.

                • We keep crying about our front court but if Hall keeps it up and Stutz gets firing we'll be rockin'!
