Stutz was not getting the ball in proper position in the offense and the few times he did, couldn't finish. Bad game. Move on.

    Hall was a beast.

Ragland finally found his range which destroyed Fullerton's pack-it-in zone strategy. Also, when they went to the zone in the 2nd half, Toure' and Ragland weren't in the game. As soon as Marshall could get them in, Toure' made two nice penetration moves that collapsed the zone and dished for easy baskets. Ragland's bombs sealed the deal.

Jake White did a nice job in the press break when he came in. He looked fairly quick on his feet on defense.

    Hall was a beast.

      • But what did you think of Carl Hall?

        • Our team improves when Tekele is in the game, because he appears to be all about "team." He doesn't have to score, but can - plays good defense and distributes the ball. As Hatch and Ellis did last season - play defense, rebound, set picks, and get on the floor - that is what we need.

          • It's half full from the perspective that our team next year may not have to rebuild quite as much as I thought.

This year, half full-not so much. I am cautiously optimistic we are still trying to figure out life without Durley, Blair, Ellis and the Stormin Mormon and HCGM is smart enough to do that.

              • "we should be killing these guys," quoth Dan.

I'll take this kind of comment, or the obligatory disparagement of an "ugly" win, all season long -- well, maybe not all season; after awhile they'll get pretty old -- if they accompany 15-point wins that weren't really that close. Let the opponents live on to beat others and improve WSU's RPI, just give me those 15-point cruises.

There is no doubt you know he's there when you come into the lane. Do you want fries, chips or slaw with that "club?"

                    • I know that HCGM wants to establish the inside game first, but when the opposition fronts and backs your big from the beginning, you've already accomplished your goal and it's time to take advantage of the double team. We spent way to much time continuing to try to throw it over the top to GS when he had two smaller, faster jumping jacks on both sides of him and we made it so obvious each time we did it. GS also did not have the kind of matchup he needs to be effective on D. There is just certain games where the matchups are such, that you might as well set GS down much of the time.

The second half, we moved the ball much better. However, the first half was very disappointing to see 4 seniors (Murry, Kyles, Ragland, Smith) and a junior (Williams) work the ball and move themselves around so poorly. EO had a bad game and I'm not sure how long it is going to take for Anacreon to be something other than the last person off the bench. I'm guessing Jake White will continue to get more minutes as the season moves along.

By the end of the night, Murry, Kyles, Williams, and Rags combined for nice stats: 15-28 FG, 5-12 3pt, 45 points with 13 assists, 6 steals and 11 rebounds. The TOs were to high at 10 (Kyles 5).

Tekele will continue to demand minutes....he just does good things for the team.

Oh, yes. Carl Hall had a nice game. HA!!! Now that was a strong inside game!!!

Edit: We did NOT play a good overall game. In a 14 minute span in the second half, we outscored Fullerton 35-16. The other 26 minutes we lost 40-44. Against this team those minutes should have been reversed and will need to be that way against better opponents.

If you yell and scream loud enough after a made 3 or a dunk, you don't even hear it!

                        • I have always hated when the halftime consists of only playing music & turning on the "dance cam." Last night's halftime show, however, was a ton worse than that. I'm sure the idea of singing Christmas carols sounded much better in the halftime show brainstorming session. Hopefully they won't do it again.

                          • Like NFL Live commentators like to refer to Marshawn Lynch as in 'Beast Mode' when he goes off, I think the same moniker is appropriate for CH when he does too.

True enough. But the volume hasn't hit that level yet. I bet it does against UNLV.

Yeah. I had called him The Beast since SM, and used the #BeastMode hashtag on Twitter since then too. It's very fitting.
