I was disappointed when AR announced his departure and him going to OU was strange as well. Would he have been useful for us last year or would he just been AR part two without being able to work on regaining strength in his upper body. What a talented shooter but his lack of strength and defensive liabilities hurt us on several occasions. Mike Kennedy said at the end of his OSU broadcast that he hoped no one booed AR but showed class even though he didn't expect anyone to cheer for him in the introduction. I will do as I always do during the other teams introduction. Just sit quietly and wait for my Shocks to be introduced. We will hold him under his average and win by 10. Go Shocks

If the WSU coaches and players make this about WSU vs Austin Reaves as many fans seem to be I don't thing the outcome will be very good. But I don't think that is likely to be the case. I expect Coach Marshall will make sure the Shocks understand they are taking on a good Oklahoma team which happens to have Austin Reaves as a key component. On OU's last game against North Texas in Denton they edged the Mean Green 82-80.with their starters scoring 80 of their 82 points.

6-7 Senior froward Kristian Doolittle led the Sooners in that game with 28 points on 11-15 shooting including 3-3 on treys and 3-5 from the line plus 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Reaves contributed 22 points but was only 4-12 from the field including 2-6 on treys but made his living at the free throw line hitting 12-14 he also grabbed 6 rebounds but only had 1 assist. Brady Manek a 6-9 junior forward scored 16 points on 6-11 (1-4) from the field and 3-4 from the line and led the Sooners with 8 rebounds. De'vion Harman, a 6-1 freshman guard 11 points on 4-9 (2-5) shooting and 1-2 from the line. The 5th starter, Jamal Bieniemy, chipped in 3 points. OU's starters played 166 minutes in this game.

By comparison the Shocker starters in their 80-61 win and Oklahoma scored 60 of the Shocker's 80 points and played a total of 119 minutes.

I don't care of the Shockers shut down Doolittle, Reaves or Manek or if they slow all 3 of them down are some combination thereof as long as the Shocks win the game and don't let someone eslke go off on them..

The only thing I did not like about the Shocker's win over Oklahoma State was the lack of production in the last 5 minutes of both halves when they only manged to put a total of 6 points on the board. Hopefully, the Shocks keep the peddle to the metal from start to finish against OU.

The Shocks appear to have a clear advantage in size and depth against the Sooners. Hopefully, they can use both of those to their benefit.

AR has gained more than 20 pounds; current roster listed weight is 202 lbs
