I watched about 2/3 of the game, and most of what I saw was a disorganized track meet on Maryland's part. Very undisciplined, forcing passes and shots, sloppy (if any) lanes on the break - in other words, not I've seen out of Turgeon squads at WSU and A&M. I told friends before our game that my gut instinct was that Turge's leverage disappeared with the depth of his bench. If he's unwilling to bench the only athletes that could keep up with Bama, they were going to be at the mercy of the better team. Bama moved the ball much better and was hitting their 3s. Game over at halftime.

And here's the really funny part: He's doing it wrong. You bring in the ring finger, not the middle finger.

Yeah, I do it from time to time, but not for a photo. I have SOME class.

/or was it 'classes'? Yeah, I had SOME classes....

He's doing the obscene "shocker" and not the "W" that is done by the cheerleaders and some fans.

Anyone that wants to muddy the line between the 2 obviously is either mentally slow or so wildly immature that you shouldn't be allowed out past dusk.

If you can't tell, Gabe's stupidity has been a burr in my ass for 6 months.

        Rant over.
I guess I didn't realize that Gabe's stupidity was an issue. Not trying to stir up anything, but care to elaborate? I have to claim ignorance on this one.

Watching the Temple/Purdue game they just showed some NBA scouts, and two of them had black WSU shirts on with the basketball wheatshocker logo! Interesting...

I'm sure he's one of them. I sure wouldn't recognize him from this Timberwolves photo (half way down the page)...

I love that article. The Bama guy gives WSU a lot of love and respect.

That's not the derogatory shocker. I always assumed an E. East coast or possibly eastern carolina. But I'm not exactly up on what's going down on the streets these days.

                      • Alabama last night started Green and Mitchell along with three guards.
They didn't start a big center. How well WSU does against Mitchell first and Green second will tell a lot of the story for WSU.
Alabama also has revenge for last years loss in the final as motivation.

Alabama must deal with the outside snipers of Kyles. Smith, and Murry.
I think they handle Garrett. Hall is a real question mark that they aren't prepared for.

Alabama's bigs play better than our snipers.

                        WSU-70

Not at all. Maryland tried to match up with them, run when possible, and play man-to-man defense, for most of the game. I only watched it off and on but everything I saw Maryland do looked horrible. Turgeon himself looked like he's aged significantly since last I saw him. Maybe feeling the pressure to succeed, like he's never really experienced before as a head coach.

                              • I'm pretty sure we would have put 20 up on Maryland, too. Alabama is very good but certainly not unbeatable. One shouldn't overestimate their opponent any more than one should underestimate them. They're motivated by revenge, but our guys know we beat 'em once and we can beat 'em again. This one will undoubtedly be an epic physical battle with constant lead changes. I see The Beast getting his first double/double, Stutz with a solid game, and Kyles ripping 3's.
