WSU versus Colorado Predictions and Pregame Discussions

Way too much confidence in our ability to score a ton of points for my liking.....Can't wait to see KCShox weigh in. With his penchant for going against the grain, I suspect he'll predict a 85-62 Buff victory.

I think we both should and will win, but I don't think that we won't put up as many total points or win bu as big a margin as some are suggesting. Colorado lost a lot of offense, but a Boyle coached team will play defense and rebound.

There are a number of people on page one predicting WSU scores in the low to mid 70s and CU scores in the mid 60s. This seems more reasonable to me than predictions of us scoring in the mid to upper 80s (or higher) and winning by 15-20.

We do need to get a little perspective here. I think that Colorado will have more talent than some are giving them credit for, and we played well Sunday afternoon but it was just Charleston Southern (a possible good and dangerous team but let's not over do it).

Let's see some predictions!

P.S. Thanks for making an exception last time WuDrWu -- we all pretty much took a beating on the first game by overestimating how good K-State is, and hence how good Charleston Southern is, and perhaps underestimating how good we are.

Thoughts about why scores are spread so high:

1) Garrett and Toure sat for major minutes in the CSBucs game.

2) We were as deep as the bench would allow for the last 10 minutes or so (I wasn't really paying attention, maybe it was only 5 minutes).

3) I think it could have been a 100 point game easily. I think (hope) we have major firepower and poise this year (less panicky shooting).

4) Our defense looks very solid. We were fluid as hell.

5) I don't know squat about the Buffs other than they lost some firepower last year and performed as expected against a DII team.

If anything we are probably underestimating the Buffs more than overestimating the Shox?

@Kung Wu: As my post said, this was all about me expecting Boyle to have his team ready to play defense and rebound, not a knock on our offensive ability. You want a prediction so I'll say:

Shox: 74
Buffs: 64

I know that Colorado had a scrimmage against Creighton, but does anyone know if they had a second scrimmage instead of an exhibition game?

I ask this because their only game to date this season is an 85-57 win over DII Fort Lewis College, but it appears that this was a regular season game not an exhibition.

I'm pretty sure a school is allowed only one scrimmage.

Pretty sure they didn't have an exhibition, as I remember a couple of their posters saying that it would be one of their weaknesses going into the PRTO, because their only game was against a DII school.

I'll guess 78-66 Shockers. Defense is still going to be ahead of offense. I doubt Toure' is 100% yet and Stutz has to stop the silly fouls.
