That totally FLEW by your mesh of a head again. Everything Aargh stated was fact and the only thing you could fireball back was a reference to Kansas City radio station and that somehow erases all of the other ag networks KSU broadcasts in.

After a week in timeout, I figured either you would have tempered down your douchiness, which you haven't, or you wouldn't let the tiniest hints of slight toward your program bother you on a WSU board, also FAIL.

Your basketball team looks like a team full of girls who couldn't touch the rim with a 2 foot shot. Absolutely terrible. Hope you enjoyed that little "run" while it lasted.

I also will say Tune in is great when the broadcast is actually getting put out there without a "phone line" interfering. That was the excuse anyways for yesterday's troubles. Although MK did say Charleston Southern radio was having the same issues, so that would indicate that it may be a Koch issue. Would that surprise anybody?

Yet another FAIL to add to the list. I'm sure we looked really professional to the Charleston Southern radio guys. That's sad.

I understood Mike to say that the CSU radio guys were NOT having problems and that he had no problem with VB broadcasts from the other end. That would point to a problem on the floor. In any case, there is no reason for that to happen and it needs to get fixed.

You may be right wusphlash. I might have misunderstood. You're right though. Either way, the problem needs to be fixed. Pronto.

Why, then did the broadcast cut out during the Shocker Locker Room show? They weren't even at Koch.

I guess I'm curious as to what a solution is. Does Athletics need to wait until we negotiate a new contract? Is it year to year? I live out by Goddard (east of Goddard) and lose signal at night games when I pull into my neighborhood. I've got a one year old truck so it's not my radio, it's the signal. I guess when I can grab my phone and listen to Pandora or hundreds of radio stations in digital quality I don't understand why I can't do the same on my radio(s) and hear the Shocks the way I feel they should be heard, in high quality.

Does Athletics own the equipment or the radio station/Mike? I love Mike. He calls a great game but the equipment has sucked for years. I have no doubt it's very expensive. We could debate this indefinitely. If it's a matter of advertising dollars and Shocker basketball isn't generating enough ad dollars then, well, that's just sad. I don't believe that is the case.

Since Entercom owns several radio stations, it would be nice if they would put the Shocker games on both 1330 AND one of their FM stations.

That would be the best of both worlds.

Much as I like Kennedy doing the broadcasts, BMG has the worst possible setup for handling the broadcasts. The announcers seem to be the advertising sales force. The announcers also seem to be the voices and the production crew for commercials. BMG does this on the cheap.

I'd hope the athletic department opened up media to any interested bidder. That might mean the end of Kennedy doing the broadcasts. I believe he sells advertising now and doubles as both a salesman and an announcer. A national media rights interest would use a professional advertising sales staff and probably go for some markets WSU broadcasts don't have now. That would cut into Kennedy's paycheck, which might mean he would no longer be interested in doing the broadcasts. I suspect he can retire on what he's made to this point.

BMG has pretty much played their hand. We're going to get marginal broadcasts. Even when all the technology is working, the games will cut out at exciting moments when, between the crowd noise and excited announcers, the broadcast seems to cut out if the mics get overloaded.

While it's not technically true that BMG = Kennedy = BMG, it's functionally true that BMG = Kennedy = BMG. It would seem that BMG either takes more advertising revenue and devotes it to equipment that can handle the broadcasts, or WSU listeners settle for the broadcasts we're getting, or WSU gets someone else to handle media. I doubt that Entercom will spend one cent to upgrade any AM equipment.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Tunein works great for me too. Free app on my blackberry. I listened to a Topeka broadcast of a high school football game recently while i was on the West Coast. I listened to yesterday's game on via my bluetooth while I was at the in-laws in KC.

Radio networks will be a thing of the past in 20 years me things. In the mean time, it would be great for WSU to have more stations.
