Great Ticket Offer for UAB vs WSU at IBA - $10, $25, $35

Gotta agree with DSB. If tickets aren't selling well, they'll always be a chance at a last-minute enticing deal. If you purchased early enough, you got a better seat in a same priced section as what may be discounted. It also happens in every market place. You buy something at regular price and a day later, a slashing discount may have occurred on the product you just purchased. Are you really gonna wait it out the next time you wanna purchase those carton of eggs at 30% off?

Something had to be done to get butts in the seats as it has become apparent there is not a lot of support for WSU or this game. Maybe, the promoters won't start so high with ticket prices in the first place. They were definitely out of place for this game.

I'm not saying nor did I even remotely imply these promotions did not need to happen for this game. And the people who bought early this time will for the most part probably by early next time. Furthermore, none of the really prime seats are being discounted nor would I expect them to be. The people who have waited for the discounted tickets will be even more inclined to to wait in the future. The bottom line though is still the bottom line. These promotions are giving us some indication of how ticket sales are going to this point. If this is not a financial success for the promoter WSU will have to self-promote future IBA games. Which may be OK. What is the finacial impact of hosting a Tulsa at IBA vs Koch Arena as part of the seson ticket package? I really don't know. Would WSU have any better luck promoting a home game at IBA that is not part of the season ticket package?

All valid points and concerns, '72. I agree that the initial promotion of this event was bad. I think WSU should be a little responsible for this. Despite the fact that they already have a check and the game really has nothing to with them, they should feel some duty in promoting it, seeing how that WSU is attached to it. They did an ad at the exhibition game for the UAB game. I'm sure WSU feels some responsibility for its promotion, but at what price and what length? I dunno myself..

Well I waited and it paid off, picked up a pair of the $35 dollar tickets.

Agreed, more than happy with center court a couple rows up. :)

But I am glad they discounted tickets so others who my not have been able to buy tickets now can.

There is a promotion for those with a military ID. Now through Nov. 18, show a military ID at the Intrust Bank Arena box office, and receive buy one, get one free tickets. A great thing for all vets.

Also, this is the last day for WSU students to get $11 tickets at the box office.

The promotions are there, now let's see if people take advantage of them...

Got student tickets with a buddy of mine still at WSU and we're in the 5th row. Fifth row. 5. It's understandable that the students won't be there in force, but I hope this isn't an indication of how well tickets in general are (or aren't) selling.

Did anyone else get a call from the Shocker Ticket Office regards UAB tickets. Have never seen them hawk single game tickets like that.
