Wichita State's New Gray Uniforms

I thought the reason MTXE could not be displayed was due to a ncaa regulation regarding anything other than the schools name, players name and number.

With the addition of a conference and perhaps a memorial emblem that's true for jerseys. I haven't seen restrictions for pants.

If they keep winning, I say they can wear the gray uni's the rest of the season.

Pants are part of the jersey. At least according to the HS rules. Would assume that'd be the same for college.

So does that mean we got some sort of one game waiver when we had our MTXE night?

I know WSU has always stuck with a very simply look.... but some of the other Jordan schools have some pretty sweet gear.

Sticking with the grey.... something like this would be sweet.

I've always like Marquette's jerseys and wouldn't mind having something similar. That said, I actually like our grays quite a bit (more than when we just had the picture of them on shockwaves).

Probably. There may also be some kind of policy about throwback uniforms (so long as they are only worn on a limited basis).

I'm not sure if the NCAA decided not to follow up with that plan or not, but neither UNC nor Kentucky has an NCAA chest mark either this year (and I know UNC has in the past).

I believe that should be "THE Wichita MTXE State University," 1972.

By the way, isn't Penn State also "The Pennsylvania State University," just like The Ohio State?

I thought we dropped the "The". OTOH apparently we have never officialy adopted the (Wheat)Shockers as our nickname.

Just kidding, 1972. "The" was one of the unfortunate legacies of Warren Armstrong, and I'm also fairly certain it has long since been sent to the trash heap. That was "The" President Warren Armstrong, by the way -- not the earlier one who subsequently became Warren Jabali.

Actually I thought Warren Jabali was The Warren Armstrong. Whereas President Armstrong was The Other Warren Armstrong. It is all so confusing to an old man like me.

I wonder, and didn't want to start a new thread, but I know Coach Marshall fought to bring back the MTXE uni's for one game, now has MTXE in the opening video.

How long until MTXE re-appears on our jerseys?

Here's an even better idea. How about putting MTXE on the court? Maybe along the sidelines...just a suggestion

Actually I thought Warren Jabali was The Warren Armstrong. Whereas President Armstrong was The Other Warren Armstrong. It is all so confusing to an old man like me.

They are both the same person and they founded and own the Warren Theatres.

Thanks for that clarification, Doc. Obviously I'm getting up there in years myself. No question that from a WSU sports standpoint 1972 is right, though -- Jabali was The Warren Armstrong, at least until he decided to switch names.
