Haslametrics has gathered enough data from the start of the season and has finally updated for the 2019-2020. Our initial spot in his rankings is in the Top-25, slotting in at #22! We are the highest rated team from the American, ahead of Memphis who is at #27.

The goal of Haslametrics is to provide unique statistical insight and to offer predictive analysis based on teams' prior performances in a given season.

If we win out in Cancun, I think we start getting votes in the polls.

Looks like Michigan will make a big move up the polls this week with back-to-back-to back wins over Iowa State 83-76, #6 North Carolina 73-64 and #8 Gonzaga 82-64 at the Battle 4 Atlantis to move to 7-0 on the season.

If we sweep, VCU, OSU and OU, the Shox will break into the polls at #22.

Chris Beard overrated? Let's go over what he did.

2016: Took an Arkansas Little-Rock team that was 13-18 and 235th in KenPom to 56th and 30-5, knocking off 5 seed Purdue in OT in the 1st round of the NCAAT.

2017: Beard takes over Texas Tech, Little-Rock falls back to being bad (245th in KP.) Texas Tech goes 18-14 and finished 41st.

2018: Leads TTU to 3 seed and Elite Eight. (27-10, 11th)

2019: Takes them to the NCG, losing in OT to Virginia (31-7, 5th)

              Is he overrated now?

Little Rock. Big difference, however, your point still stands.

What's the highest a team has gone from unranked to ranked?

Michigan will likely be Top 10, if not Top 5, after their little holiday of fun.

Beard is not overrated. Tech at #12 right now sure is but should be expected after their loss in personnel.

West Virginia currently has the #1 RPI ranking this year, thru 12/01/19.

Wouldn't be surprised to see them start 2020 with a 12-0 record and #1 RPI.

West Virginia is number one in the "back alley" and "behind the lunchroom at recess" teams. They were grown ass men and we were boys.

While officially not used by the NCAA Selection committee, if i recall correctly, RPI had a slightly better success record on who got an "At-Large" bid last year.
