    That's not saying much.

    Woodbury is 42
    Gesell is 96

The other 3 are unranked 3's.

Obviously, it is great for our program to continuously get invites to these pre-season tournaments as we get to play schools we would not otherwise be able to schedule.

Question? How do we rate to be selected every year? Aren't the majority of other quality non-BCS schools interested in this approach to improve their RPI's while at the same time gaining valuable experience against quality teams?

Or Is it simply that there are so many pre-season tournaments that any school with a decent program can snag an invite if interested?

The biggest reason we keep getting invited is that our fan base travels very well and has earned a pretty good reputation. As long as that continues, and we have a solid product, we shouldn't have any issues getting into good MTEs. Hopefully we can continue to rotate through a handful of the better ones and not get stuck with a low level event that won't do much for us.

I hope we get invited back to Maui in the next 5 years or so. You know Memphis and Gonzaga are going to be on the frequent rotation for the non-BcS school invited there. But we may end up sharing those trips with the likes of Creighton. But that's the big one.

I believe we're working on Charleston in 2013. Forgot who I heard for 2014, but I was impressed. We won't go to one with Creighton in it, but they definitely should be going to one every year also.

We had the most fans at San Juan and probably 2nd most if not the most at Maui. President and Mrs. Beggs fed 348 (including players/coaches/etc) at San Juan and a few more at Maui.

We were definitely not the fanbase with the most fans in Maui, that dubious distinction goes to Kentucky. We were actually probably third there, as Michigan State appeared to have a few more than we did. But we were waaaaayyyy behind Kentucky. Although many of their fans came without even having guaranteed tickets. At the very least, we appeared to have a few more than Connecticut, and way more than Virginia or Oklahoma.

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

They are both solidly in the 4 star range.

Thanks for the 2013 info about Charleston. Put on the thinking cap about where we might go in 2014!

An old guy in Cancun with lots of young chiquitas. Living the dream........................until Senora Wusphlash yanks the leash.

Would we travel well to the Pre-Season NIT in 2014 or is that toooooo exclusive of territory? We have history in MSG now.

I don't think 3G wants to do the NIT because the scheduling is a pain.

Lynn told us in San Juan that they are hoping to get invited to The Battle for Atlantis at some point in the next few years. They are making a big push to make that tournament the Maui of the Caribbean. I would be more than happy to add the Bahamas to our rotation of vacation destinations!
