Wolf is out. Heard on the radio this morning that he blogged or twittered that he had withdrawn from consideration. I imagine that was right after he was told he was not the pick.

Conservative WSU will vote in the old dude. I mean, the seasoned, wise, and experienced gentleman with former Wichita ties. Yawn

If I did have to bet I would probably bet on John Bardo also. Although that doesn't mean he wasn't the best choice among the finalist. Whether the 5 finalist that made the cut were the best we could do is hard to say but it is at least debatable I suppose.

I agree that he may be the best of what we were given, but nobody was a HR type candidate based off of what we've been presented. Whoever it is, I hope they try to grow Wichita State and its image. As well as fully back the athletic department as it's very much the face of the University.

Anyone who uses his or her limited time in this interview process to convey that their main thrust is minority enrollment scares me... a lot. I really could care less one way or another what the racial breakdown of WSU is, but there are FAR more important issues to our University than social engineering. Unless something changed since my days at WSU, the school is already pretty racially diverse. What is the guy talking about in the first place? We already HAVE to be the most diverse school in the KBOR (FHSU's little Chinese on-line degree scam notwithstanding).

President Bardo may very well prove to be the equal of President Beggs. However, Shirley Beggs may be the unreplaceable piece of the puzzle.
